Position Summary

The Senior Manager, Application Development is responsible for leading the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of software solutions that support critical operations at CVS Health. This role serves as a technical leader, owning end-to-end delivery of complex initiatives while leveraging approved technologies, standards, and best practices.

The Senior Manager analyzes business requirements and architects scalable, high-quality solutions to address complex challenges. This individual manages project deliverables, establishes and monitors timelines, and proactively communicates status updates to leadership and cross-functional partners. They are accountable for delivering development efforts within defined schedules and quality expectations.

This role requires a strong understanding of modern software architecture, technical principles, and emerging technologies. The Senior Manager drives innovation by recommending and implementing solutions that align with enterprise standards and business objectives.

In collaboration with business analysts, stakeholders, and technical teams, the Senior Manager coordinates development activities to ensure alignment, efficiency, and successful outcomes. Additionally, this role plays a key part in advancing engineering practices by leading the adoption and refinement of methodologies, standards, and guidelines, including system design, development, architectural frameworks, unit testing, debugging, and documentation.

Required Experience

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience as an Applications Developer, Software Engineer, Full Stack Developer, Systems Architect or similar role
  • 5+ years of experience using the C# programming language to build, deploy, and maintain software applications using Microsoft's .NET development ecosystem.
  • 5+ years of experience working with .NET frameworks, Angular, MVC architecture, and JavaScript
  • 5+ years of strong experience in SQL development, including:
    • Advanced SQL query writing
    • Performance tuning and optimization
    • Development and maintenance of SQL Server stored procedures and related methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with health care or PBM industry including claims adjudication processing.
  • 1+ years experience with GCP
  • Understanding of Web security
  • SSIS and SSRS experience
  • Visual Studio, SQL Server, 3rd party controls (i.e., Telerik)
  • Data delivery support – data feed and file transfer

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical field relevant professional experience required

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$118,450.00 - $236,900.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
