POSITION SUMMARY

  • The Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer will contribute to the development of new products; work in a cross-functional environment with electrical controls, thermal & other development groups; manage a variety of tasks and activities in this dynamic environment; and solve complex problems related to High density and Liquid cooling applications for data centers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide daily support to manufacturing operations by ensuring seamless product flow through the production line, coordinating with both on-site factory personnel and the extended Center of Excellence (COE) team.

  • Creates/modifies mechanical Parts/Assemblies/drawings in CAD systems, such as Creo and/or Solid Edge.
  • Create and maintain Bill of Materials and unit configurator logic to select the correct BOM’s based on options selected by the customer. 
  • Works with Manufacturing, Service and Quality to understand their requirements to design a product that best meets all their needs.
  • Assist with prototype builds by providing technical support and providing guidance when issues arise. 
  • Gather feedback from prototype builds and field trials and implement appropriate improvements to the product.
  • Understanding the products, suggest ideas and improvements.
  • Assists with troubleshooting of escalated or re-occurring field issues.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or product development with extensive experience.
  • 8+ years of mechanical design & analysis experience in a similar role
  • Fluency in English required (read, write, and speak).
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical concepts, products, and safety. 
  • Proficient in 3D CAD software, preferred CREO 10.0 and greater
  • Experience with Sheetmetal, piping and assemblies is a plus.
  • Create and revise drawings and bills of materials.
  • Change order management and Data-entry systems familiarity - Oracle, Agile, etc.  
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve (and prevent) a wide range of problems quickly and methodically. 
  • Detail oriented. 
  • Excellent planning, organizing, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate in cross functional global development teams.
