- Maintain a broad and in-depth product knowledge base along with full understanding of all departmental procedures.
- Assist other engineers or upper management and staff as a technical specialist or advisor.
- Help coordinate, mentor, and guide less experienced engineers’ efforts
- Develop mechanical components and system concepts that satisfy business and compliance needs/demands.
- Ability to read, review and create P&IDs, PFDs, layout drawings and piping fabrication isometric drawings using various AutoCAD products such as AutoCAD, AutoCAD MEP and AutoCAD Plant 3D.
- Ability to model/assemble parts/components in 3D using various AutoCAD products such as Inventor, Revit and AutoCAD Plant 3D.
- Provide selection and specifications of tanks, valves, pumps and other mechanical equipment.
- Apply necessary NFPA, API and ASME standards to ensure design compliance in the project permitting stage to final inspections.
- Perform calculations
- Checking and approval of drawing packages and calculations
- Develop and execute mechanical design verification test plans per requirements specifications to ensure prototypes meet design requirements.
- Participate in design reviews for projects to ensure quality design output.
- Complete all as-built updates to drawings upon completion of projects.
- Maintain the drawing database and vault to ensure a consolidated record of all projects is kept.
- Confer with engineering management and project engineers on problems encountered and questions arising on projects.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required:
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology is required for this position
Suggested minimum of 5-10 years’ experience as an mechanical engineer or related position
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
Ability to travel up to 50% (travel varies from 0%-50%).
Successfully pass a pre-employment drug test (do not test for THC / marijuana)
