The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible in the design office for Lead engineering and design tasks of the assigned projects based on specific and detailed instructions received from the assigned supervisor as to the required tasks and will independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, in execution of their work. Project sectors served include Petrochemical, Chemical, Refining, and LNG.
Responsibilities• Lead specification development, and technical bid and vendor document Industrial EPC and LNG projects.
• Assist with proposal preparation by preparing man-hour estimates.
• Assist with preparing and managing mechanical project budgets and schedules.
• Attend client, vendor, and internal team meetings.
• Specify tanks, pumps, pressure vessels, compressors, exchangers, and other process equipment.
• Review vendor documents for compliance to project specifications and industry standards.
• Prepare equipment data sheets, and full mechanical equipment and system specifications.
• Perform technical and economic evaluations, bid tabulations, and prepare recommendations.
• Attend vendor design and fabrication kickoff meetings.
• Prepare ASME pressure vessel and piping calculations.
• Perform field walk downs to collect information required to complete work.
Qualifications
• 10-15 + years of experience working as an engineer in the Industrial Construction/Services Industry, EPC, and LNG sector.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, chemical, or petroleum engineering discipline from an accredited engineering program.
• Experience leading small (2 to 3 engineers/designers) teams.
• Experience working with pumps, pump mechanical seal systems, and compressors.
• Experience working with ASME and API Standards for rotating equipment.
• Highly motivated self-starter with ability to work in an interactive and open team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and capable to perform detailed technical document and drawing checking. Position requires significant exposure to vendor document review, detailed assessment of vendor design accuracy and specification compliance.
CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR LICENSES REQUIRED *

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• LNG experience preferred
• PE in Louisiana or able to get reciprocity in Louisiana.
• Strong attention to detail and capable to perform detailed technical document and drawing checking.
• Position requires significant exposure to vendor document review, detailed assessment of vendor design accuracy and specification compliance.
• Good Communication Skills (Active Listening, Verbal and Written)
• Willing to travel to Japan for 2 weeks every two months. Travel reimbursed by Zachry.
