Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, this is a key role supporting the manufacturing process and equipment.

We are a team of Manufacturing and Automation Engineering professionals who embrace a collaborative environment to tackle sophisticated challenges that meet the needs of our patients. We often need to change direction and respond to issues to avoid disruptions in our fast-paced manufacturing environment. Together, we build and maintain a positive work environment.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Leading execution of continuous improvement projects and initiatives on manufacturing equipment, demonstrating a data driven approach.

  • Supports the manufacturing process and develops expertise on equipment and interactions with the process, being a key contributor to resolution of persistent complex technical problems using a data driven approach.

  • Preparing equipment performance reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends, in support of process improvement.

  • Demonstrable capability to manage multiple deadlines and determine work priorities, the majority of which is to be done autonomously.

  • Actively promotes and participates in cross functional teamwork as an influential team member.

The minimum qualifications for this role are:

  • The ideal candidate will be a Mechanical/Manufacturing/ Engineering graduate with 5 yrs. experience in a high speed, highly automated drug, or medical device fill/assembly/packaging operation within a highly regulated industry.

  • Proficient and experienced in driving projects and continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing, with knowledge and competencies in quality, validation, and maintenance systems.

  • A motivated and flexible person who can formulate detailed plans with minimum supervisory influence and manage them through to completion.

  • Developed problem solving ability requiring good analytical skills and sound judgment to respond to potentially complicated or novel situations.

  • Demonstrated experience in design and execution of technical reports in support of manufacturing process improvement, deviations and problem solving.

  • Demonstrated strong communication and team-working skills including the ability to work effectively and influence decisions across functions, communicating effectively through verbal and written means.

  • A track record of developing efficient, innovative, and creative solutions to complex and challenging engineering problems, using established tools and frameworks. Lean/Six sigma certification would be advantageous.

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

Skills Required

  • Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Engineering degree
