Sr Manager, Vulnerability Management

Position Summary:

Provides leadership for those involved in the development, design and optimization of one or more information technology and systems functions supporting company business processes and technical information systems platforms. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, analysis, selection and modification of enterprise systems, application software, installation of network hardware/software and database management. Provides direction for the effort required to protect the company’s data, tools and information systems. Ensures infrastructure architecture standards maximize efficiency and support platform compatibility. Usually requires subject matter knowledge of user group for practical application of system characteristics. Coordinates delivery of services to user groups and ensures IT service is uninterrupted. Typically focused on internal IT service delivery for employees, but may have an external client focus if involved with company-hosted, web-enabled, or outsourced solutions delivery.

Changes to individual responsibilities may occur due to business needs and other related duties may be assigned.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Establishes operational objectives and work plans.

  • Determines resources needed to meet goals and delegates assignments to subordinates.

  • Develops, modifies, and executes company policies that affect immediate operations and may have enterprise-wide effect.

  • Works on complex assignments where problem solving requires conceptual thinking as all factors may not be clearly defined.

  • Erroneous decisions may cause critical delay in accomplishing annual goals and directly impact the overall success of a team or program.

  • Regularly interacts with lower and/or senior management on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers.

  • Applies knowledge to convince other stakeholders on desired departmental outcomes.

  • Interactions require the ability to persuade others in sensitive and complex situations while preserving relationships.

  • Manages activities of two or more disciplines or a department.

  • Frequently advises team(s) on moderately complex matters and exercises supervision in terms of budget, methods, and staffing.

  • Oversees experienced professionals and may be responsible for subordinate supervisors and/or managers.

  • In some instances, may be responsible for a functional area and not have any subordinate employees.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of vulnerability management experience
  • 7+ years of team management and hiring experience
  • Deep understanding of vulnerability management tools, CVSS scoring, and patching,
  • Deep understanding of security standards and frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, HIPAA, GDPR and more
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and reporting applicable metrics related to vulnerability management
  • Experience with asset discovery and management as it relates to vulnerability management

Experience/Education:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 12 years of related experience, with 3-6 years of Management experience.
