Job Description:

Sr. Mgr, Technical Training

Essential Function:
Accountable to the Senior Director of Operations for developing strategies to enable rapid scaling within the Silfex Operations workforce (dynamic manufacturing environment).  Directs the development and implementation of training and development programs/activities throughout the Operations function to meet performance entitlements, production goals, and cost objectives within and across a matrixed organization.  Responsible for ensuring training programs meet company objectives.  Leverages outside sources to supplement training offerings and frequency while maximizing the use of internal resources. 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Collaboratively develops strategies specifically with respect to reducing the cycle time for new employee to 80% productivity goal.

·         Coordinates with the Operations leadership team and functional leaders to develop critical skills matrices and training syllabi to support skill progression and cross-training.

·         Leverages interactive technology solutions, as well as, outside sources to support training requirements. Including the integration of learning management solutions to document detailed training plans and status of training across the organization.

·         Coordinates and collaborates with HR and IT on content alignment, scalability, and infrastructure requirements to ensure the delivery of robust training solutions.

·         Manages the planning and coordination of training calendars, attendance and project milestones critical to the design, delivery, and oversight of training.

·         Collaborate with value stream managers, supervisors, and plant operations managers to manage and develop certification programs across value streams and manufacturing cells.

·         Establish tools and programs to develop trainers within the Silfex organization including certifying trainers.

·         Coach trainers as needed to complete development and achieve certification.

·         Maintain compliance with documentation and competency of training required by ISO standards and learning management system administration.

·         Collect feedback, measure training effectiveness, develop/implement corrective actions and report results to management.

  

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

·         Bachelor’s degree with 6 or more years of management experience

·         5+ years' combined educational and job experience in a manufacturing or learning & development discipline. (Emphasis on manufacturing job experience)

·         Experience developing and administering training within a manufacturing environment.

·         Consultative approach and high level of confidence in influencing people with no direct authority relationship

·         Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to rapidly changing requirements with respect to content and approach.

·         Knowledge of industrial/manufacturing processes, human factors, and organizational behaviors.

·         Demonstrate practical application of effective training methodologies.

·         Demonstrated ability to apply project management fundamentals and tools.

·         Strong verbal, written communication, and collaboration skills

·         Ability to manage complex processes and projects, work under tight time constraints and effectively work in a matrixed environment.

·         Experience working with all levels of an organization (manufacturing floor associates to General Manager)

·         Demonstrated strategic development and deployment skills

·         Key Competencies candidate must possess for success:

Preferred Qualifications

·         MBA or master’s degree in Training Development, Industrial/Organization Psychology, Education or other training and development discipline.

·         Experience in leading in a fast-paced and dynamic manufacturing environment.

·         Experience in semiconductor fabrication or other high-tech industry.

·         Knowledge of lean manufacturing and advanced manufacturing methodologies.

·         Proficiency in Learning Management Systems.

·         Experience in learning delivery for different learning types.

·         Ability to travel internationally at least 25%
