The Need
For over 25 years, IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times in the last decade, IJM’s Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% for very large populations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence, we are seeking a Sr. Manager, Strategic Partnerships.
Working closely with the Vice President, Strategic Partnerships, the Sr. Manager, Strategic Partnerships will provide direct management, support and leadership to a team of 6-8 major donor fundraisers.
The Sr. Manager will partner with the leadership team to contribute to the development of donor engagement and fundraising strategies. This leader’s responsibility will focus on developing new acquisition strategies that effectively scale the donor base across the US market. This individual may manage a small portfolio of major donors and focus on providing deep 1:1 support to fundraising leaders with full portfolios.
Ultimately, your success in this role will lead to more children, women and men being freed from violence and protected in their communities.
This position is based in the Washington, DC area and is available to be hybrid (onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays). It reports to the Vice President, Strategic Partnerships and is only available for candidates with the right to work in the US.
Key Result Areas:
The success of this role is measured by the following KRAs:

Achieve annual revenue growth targets for Major and Principal Donors across the US market.

Effectively manage frontline fundraisers to develop territory-specific strategies and execute them to achieve fundraising KPIs, including hitting revenue targets.

Collaborate closely with peers to develop the strategy to acquire new high-value donors by engaging the church, workplace, and current donor networks.
Responsibilities:
Strategy & Knowledge Development & Implementation

Develop revenue growth strategies with key metrics.

Develop and implement strategies to grow acquisition of high-value donors in target markets.

Engage with high-value donors and prospective donors to execute fundraising strategies.
Management & Development

Manage front-line fundraisers to hit revenue targets consistently and joyfully.

Set clear targets and metrics for each team member, driving a culture of productive accountability.

Collaborate with SP Director of Enablement to equip fundraisers and drive adoption and best practices.
Networking & Partnership
-
Collaborate with fundraising and marketing teams to drive effective donor journeys across a cohesive pipeline.

Collaborate closely with our frontline fundraisers and develop feedback loops with marketing and support teams.

Partner with Head of Mobilization to drive the acquisition of high-value donors in key markets.
General Tasks

Qualifications:
Education & Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing or a related field.

5+ years of sales or fundraising management experience.

10+ years of professional experience in sales or nonprofit fundraising.

Demonstrated success in major donor acquisition and fundraising.

Strong leadership and people management experience, with proven ability to build healthy culture.
Technical Competencies

Competent in building revenue strategies, metrics and reporting.

Exceptional communication and writing skills.

Understanding of major gift fundraising process.

Demonstrated ability to manage through a CRM, with prior experience using Salesforce preferred.
