SUMMARY:
McCain's North American Supply Chain Design and Optimization team is responsible for setting up the entire Supply Chain organization for success. The team focuses on enabling strong business performance by managing long-range capacity, optimizing total delivered costs, providing metrics and analytical tools needed to monitor and improve the Supply Chain, and strengthening organizational capabilities.
The Supply Chain Design and Optimization Sr Manager is responsible for leading strategic projects and initiatives that span all aspects of the supply chain network - including manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, inventory management, and customer management. While leading these initiatives, the Supply Chain Design and Optimization Sr Manager will be tasked with installing industry leading processes to drive the multiple complex optimization tools utilized by the team. The Supply Chain Design and Optimization Sr Manager will have some exciting opportunities to make a significant, lasting impact on long range strategic planning, network capacity and flows, inventory strategies, and capital investment recommendations to support the strategic demand outlook.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage a team of like-minded supply chain optimization individuals. Oversee the personal and professional development of direct reports by providing consistent coaching and feedback.
  • Lead large, cross-functional supply chain design and optimization projects, spanning project management, thought leadership, and delivery of final recommendations
  • Champion the long-range planning process by developing capacity plans to identify network constraints and subsequent capacity or capability investments needed to support demand growth
  • Identify and implement opportunities to leverage the modeling tools and teams in the shorter term, tactical horizon
  • Initiate formal manufacturing and/or warehouse network design projects corresponding to identified constraints and make recommendations to support business growth
  • Evaluate network optimization and develop cost-to-serve reporting to support cost, service, sustainability, and efficiency objectives
  • Oversee inventory optimization process to drive ongoing improvements in stocking strategies that align with customer service commitments and other organizational goals
  • Own the regular review of network sizing and the determination of the role of each Network Node (customer facing full assortment, customer facing partial assortment, factory DC only, etc.)
  • Lead analysis of 'what-if' scenarios to define optimal strategies to source incremental demand, reduce plant line imbalances, manage line downtimes, and react to other new relevant information
  • Create and maintain positive working relationships with business partners through consistent communication and collaboration
  • Drive the team to utilize critical thinking, business acumen, and advanced optimization concepts and tools to provide tangible and executable recommendations to the organization
  • Develop innovative processes to drive well-informed, data-driven decision making
  • Present complex analytical findings and recommendations to business leadership in an easy-to-understand way


MINIMUM QUALITIFICATIONS:

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Analytics, Data Science or other related discipline from an accredited institution required.
  • Demonstrates strong understanding of supply chain principles and fundamentals, including planning methodologies, distribution, and plant operations.
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain design, optimization modeling, or strategic network planning in a complex manufacturing and distribution environment
  • Ability to collaborate, facilitate and successfully drive consensus, including with senior leaders
  • Experience managing and leading and the ability to develop a group of supply chain professionals of different experience and skill levels
  • Experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods industry
  • Experience leading strategic supply chain projects strongly preferred
  • Detail oriented with the ability to work with speed and accuracy
  • Organized approach to project management, with a focus on project deliverables and deadlines
  • Passion for challenging the status quo

  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Excel, SQL, and large data sets preferred.
  • Experience with advanced Supply Chain modeling tools such as Llamasoft or Cosmic Frog preferred
  • Experience with an ERP solution such as SAP preferred
