Position Overview:
Seeking a skilled Credit Risk Senior Manager to join our team. The Credit Risk Senior Manager will play a crucial role in assessing, monitoring, and managing credit risk exposure across our portfolio of clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in credit risk analysis, excellent analytical skills, and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
Responsibilities:
- Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough analysis of credit applications, assessing the creditworthiness of individuals and businesses based on financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data.
- Portfolio Management: Monitor credit portfolios to identify potential risks and opportunities, implementing strategies to optimize portfolio performance and minimize credit losses.
- Credit Policy Development: Collaborate with senior management to develop and refine credit policies, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Underwriting Standards: Establish and maintain underwriting standards and guidelines, providing guidance to lending teams to ensure adherence to risk policies and procedures.
- Risk Mitigation Strategies: Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, including risk pricing, collateral requirements, and credit enhancements, to manage credit exposure effectively.
- Credit Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor credit metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs), preparing regular reports and presentations for senior management to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Compliance and Regulatory Oversight: Stay abreast of regulatory developments and industry best practices related to credit risk management, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, marketing and operations, to streamline processes and enhance risk management practices.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and optimization within the credit risk management framework, driving initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements:
- The ideal candidate has a strong problem-solving mindset, is a great communicator and has in-depth knowledge to formulate strategic recommendations on policies, procedures, and practices.
- 5+ years of experience in consumer lending industry, preferably at a high-growth organization
- Deep knowledge of accounting principles (e.g., IFRS & GAAP) and the ability to interpret and analyze complex financial statements.
- Experience with merchant underwriting across different types of corporate group structures and business models (e.g., eCommerce sellers, marketplaces etc.)
- Strong analytical skills, including proficiency with relevant tools (e.g., Excel, Looker)
- Ability to think critically and creatively, balancing growth, priorities, and risk while adapting to a changing environment.
