POSITION SUMMARY:
Creativate’s edge is simple: one membership, four maker communities — Garment Making and Upcycling, Quilting, Embroidery, and Hobby and Utility Sewing. A quilter becomes an embroiderer mid-project; a maker starts on their phone and finishes at their machine. Today, no one owns those moments. This role does. As Senior Product Experience Manager, you make the fluidity itself the product — the connected, coherent experience that ties every community and every screen together.
Each pillar product manager builds a rich experience for their community. Your job is to take everything they create and deliver it as one unified product experience across web, mobile, tablet, and desktop, and — where it touches the maker’s journey — the connected machine. You own the seams: the cross-niche handoffs, the cross-device continuity, and the shared patterns that make Creativate feel like one product rather than four.
This is a hybrid product and design role that sits squarely on the product team. You bring a strong eye for great Consumer Experience (CX) design for connected platforms — you understand how design decisions shape the way a product feels and behaves, and you translate that into the flows, interaction patterns, and interface requirements that make Creativate work as one across every device. You are grounded in consumer insights, biased toward testing and iterating, and comfortable using AI tools to move quickly.
We are looking for someone with an eye for great CX design who understands how design shapes the way a product feels, obsesses over how it is to use, and uses data to reduce user friction and sharpen the experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Own the experience design
- Own the Consumer Experience (CX) design across connected platforms. Define and be responsible for interaction patterns, requirements, interface standards, and design system that make Creativate feel like one product across all four maker communities.
Own the space between niches and devices
- Own the cross-niche and cross-device handoffs no single pillar owns. A quilter moving into embroidery, or a maker moving from phone to tablet to desktop to machine needs to transition smoothly.
- Develop a personalization path so a maker’s expanding interest leads to the next project, skill, or tool that fits them.
- Connect creative project content, educational content, and software tools into one flow, so makers move between pillars without friction.
Unify what the pillars build
- Connect each pillar’s work into one product: aligned navigation, interaction patterns, shared surfaces, and a shared design language across every interface including web, mobile, tablet, desktop, and machine.
- Set the shared experience system and design standards every pillar builds on.
Design the experience
- Design the end-to-end flows and interaction patterns across connected platforms so the experience is intuitive and consistent.
- Map the maker journey against consumer insights and real behavior; find where it breaks and fix what matters most.
- Build, test, and scale what works, and use AI tools to move fast.
Lead through influence
- Drive a unified experience across the pillar PMs, engineering, design, operations, and marketing.
- Bring in outside resources where needed to build the content structures that accelerate makers’ skill growth.
The Employer retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position.
REQUIREMENTS AND PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience owning a product or experience end to end across multiple platforms (web, mobile, desktop), with a track record of improving how a product feels to use.
- 6+ years in product management, Consumer Experience (CX) design, or a blend of the two.
- A hybrid product-and-design sensibility: comfortable with the product-management work (strategy, prioritization, partnering with engineering) and bringing a strong CX design eye for interaction.
- An passion for great Consumer Experience (CX) design in connected, multi-device platforms, and a clear understanding of how design decisions shape how the product is experienced.
- Demonstrated success creating coherent, consistent experiences across surfaces, or unifying fragmented products into one.
- Familiarity with connected-device or companion-app ecosystems.
- Deep passion for the Voice of the Customer, grounded in consumer insights, with an instinct for what makes an experience intuitive and worth returning to.
- A build-test-learn operator: comfortable running experiments, scaling what works, and using AI tools to explore quickly.
- Ability to lead and influence across multiple teams without owning all the work.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field; equivalent experience considered.
Preferred:
- Background or training in CX, interaction, or mobile interface design.
- Experience with cross-device or omnichannel continuity.
- Experience with personalization or recommendation in a content or product context.
- Familiarity with, or passion for, the sewing, embroidery, quilting, or broader fabric-arts space.
SKILLS, ABILITIES AND KNOWLEDGE:
- A systems thinker who can hold the whole maker journey in mind while sweating the details.
- Strong consumer experience and interaction design sensibility; knows what great design feels like and can articulate why.
- Strong analytical skills; reads behavior across surfaces and turns insight into better experiences.
- Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward testing, learning, and iterating.
- Ability to lead cross-functionally and influence without direct authority across multiple teams.
- Ability to effectively communicate; excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to change; demonstrates learning agility.
