Job Description:

Senior Manager, NPI Engineering

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Manager, NPI Engineering, to lead and drive the successful transition of new products from development into mass production manufacturing. This critical leadership role will own the cross-functional execution of NPI programs, working closely with Engineering, Product Management, Quality, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing teams to ensure robust product launch, scalability, and lifecycle readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • · Provide strong leadership, mentorship, and strategic direction to a high-performing NPI Engineering team, driving the successful launch of cutting-edge electrical and power conversion products into full-scale production.

  • · Serve as the primary engineering leadership interface between product development, supply chain, and contract manufacturers (CMs), driving cross-functional alignment and execution across all NPI activities

  • · Define and implement best-in-class NPI processes, from in house prototype builds to EVT, DVT and PVT at the factories. Ensure successful handoff for mass production ramp

  • · Coordinate hardware readiness for field pilot testing, ensuring readiness for full-scale production by validating design, reliability and build quality.

  • · Drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Test (DFT) initiatives for both PCBA and mechanical components during all development stages to optimize product quality, cost, and scalability.

  • · Own development and execution of detailed NPI project plans including phase-gate reviews, validation builds, and production ramp readiness. Regularly report progress and risk mitigation strategies throughout product development lifecycle.

  • · Ensure timely delivery of manufacturing documentation packages in PLM system and drive change management process via ECO

  • · Collaborate with supply chain and sourcing teams to identify and qualify suppliers, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality components both in early stage

  • · Create reporting structure to monitor and improve KPIs for NPI Engineering such as Time to Market (TTM), Yield, Cost Variance from Target--- and others

  • · Lead the management of build pedigree records for units undergoing reliability and compliance testing, driving cross-functional collaboration to proactively identify and resolve issues

Qualifications

  • · Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

  • · 10+ years of engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role focused on NPI or manufacturing engineering managing a team of engineers.

  • · Proven track record of leading complex Power Electronics product launches in a high-tech or hardware manufacturing environment.

  • · Strong understanding of DFM/DFA principles, product validation, and transfer to manufacturing.

  • · Experience working with cross-functional and global teams, including contract manufacturers and suppliers.

  • · Exceptional project management, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • · Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), PLM tools, and CAD software.

  • · Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma knowledge/certification is a plus.

Pay Range (Applicable to California)

$225,000.00 - $245,000.00 dependent on level of experience
