We’re looking for a Senior Manager, People Analytics to lead our data-driven approach to talent and workforce strategy. In this role, you will drive analytics initiatives that shape how we attract, engage, and retain top talent. You’ll partner closely with HR, finance, and business leaders to deliver insights that inform decision-making and enhance our employee experience. Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing People Analytics team, fostering a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and innovation.
- Design and implement data strategies that provide actionable insights into talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance, and retention.
- Partner with HR and business leaders to translate workforce data into strategic recommendations.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to inform business and people strategies.
- Ensure data integrity and compliance with privacy regulations while continuously improving data collection and analysis processes.
- Communicate nuanced analyses in a clear and compelling way to diverse stakeholders, from executives to HR partners.
- Leverage external benchmarks and industry trends to inform Upwork’s people strategy.
What it takes to catch our eye
- Proven experience managing people analysts with a strong track record of delivering impactful insights.
- Expertise in HR data, workforce metrics, and predictive analytics.
- Proficiency in analytics tools such as SQL, Python, R, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Strong business acumen and ability to connect data insights to strategic objectives.
- Experience managing and coaching a team of data professionals.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distill complex analyses into clear, actionable recommendations.

The annual base salary range for this position is displayed below. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum salary for this position, and individual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Additionally, this position is eligible for the annual bonus plan or sales incentive plan and eligibility to participate in our long term equity incentive program.
