Location: This role will be based out of The Leela Office located on the 4th Floor, Airport Road, Kodihalli, Bangalore- 560008. Our expectation at this time, is that you would work from our office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays with flexibility to work from home on Mondays and Fridays.
Your work tasks / responsibilities
- As a software engineering manager, you will lead, mentor, coach and grow a team of diverse, talented engineers who are versed in delivering world-class services in high pressure situations.
- Effective collaboration skills will be required to work closely with other engineering and research teams to ensure services & systems are highly stable and performant and meet the expectations of internal and external customers.
- This role requires a motivated self-starter who thrives in a fast paced, highly technical, constantly evolving environment. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated people management skills and exceptional customer focus. You will be required to provide technical leadership and nurture a learn-it-all, curious, data-driven culture in a fast-paced high-pressure environment.
- You are a key contributor to the next generation of public relations platform development. Work closely with Technology and Product leaders, understand new business initiatives, build solutions to complex business problems, and build next generation of platform components in .NET and Angular.
- Direct supervision of an engineering team and working with colleagues across the globe.
- Meet regularly with other engineering managers to drive communication, transparency, and platform deliveries across the engineering organization.
- Ensure the needs for learning and development for your team members and coach your team to drive engineering best practices and excellence.
- Build strong partnerships with Product, Service, and Delivery to ensure we are delivery constant value to our customers that meets a high bar of excellence.
- Provide constructive feedback to directs and coworkers through radical candor to ensure a culture of constant improvement and to help everyone grow together.
- Participating in tactical and strategic discussions on the direction we will take our engineering organization
- Performing regular code and architectural reviews for your teams, and other teams to ensure technical accuracy and engineering best practices and as an opportunity for coaching
- Providing regular and consistent feedback and recognition to your teams, team members, and management.
- Ensure your teams, and their accomplishments, are seen and celebrated
- Be a servant leader for your team, coach them, don’t command them
Minimum Qualifications
- University degree or comparable qualification and 10+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, .NET C#, TypeScript, Angular, JavaScript.
- Very good communication skills and pragmatic action combined with a result-oriented mindset.
- Experience leading Agile teams with 5+ direct reports in a management role.
- Extreme Ownership and Accountability skills.
- Organizational skills for keeping track of multiple employees, schedules, and projects simultaneously.
- Good conflict resolution skills, analytical thinking skills, and ability to make decisions quickly and own them.
- Very good spoken and written English (minimum C1 / C2 desired).
Preferred Qualifications
- Specialization in either backend or frontend design, artistic attitude or passionate about user experience.
- Experience with Agile principles.
- Experience working with international teams in various time-zones.
