Purple is looking for a Sr. Manager of Marketing Operations who thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution. Someone who can translate marketing vision into organized, moving plans and keep a high-output team aligned and accountable without slowing it down. This role sits at the center of our marketing organization. You'll work directly alongside the VP of Marketing & Demand Gen and partner closely with the VP of Brand & Creative and other senior leaders to make sure strategies become action, campaigns land on time, and the right people have the right information at the right moment.
We move fast. Priorities shift. We're a publicly traded company that still operates with a startup engine, and this role is built for someone who doesn't just tolerate that reality, but is energized by it. You'll be the person who builds the systems that let the rest of the team move faster, make better decisions, and stay focused on what actually drives growth.
If you're the person who sees the gaps before anyone else, builds the process before anyone asks, and somehow always knows where everything stands, this was written for you.Job Description
What You'll Own:
Marketing Operations & Project Management
Translate marketing strategy and leadership vision into organized project plans, action items, timelines, and accountability. What gets decided in the room needs to actually get done.
Serve as the operational hub across paid search, paid social, email/CRM, wholesale, retail, PR, influencer, UGC, and creative/brand/video, coordinating deliverables and dependencies across all channels
Own the master marketing calendar: campaigns, launches, key dates, and cross-functional milestones
Run weekly cross-functional marketing syncs: prepare agendas, capture decisions, assign owners, distribute recaps, and track follow-through
Flag risks early, manage escalations, and keep projects from stalling without waiting to be asked
Build scalable workflows and intake processes in Wrike that the team actually uses and trusts
Analytics & Reporting Coordination
Partner with the Marketing Analytics team to build and maintain dashboards and reporting that give marketing the data it needs to make fast, confident decisions
Coordinate across channel owners to define reporting needs, consolidate inputs, and ensure leadership has clear visibility into performance
Monitor key marketing metrics and surface trends, anomalies, or insights that require attention, connecting the right people to act on them
Help keep an eye on competitor activity and relevant industry shifts and bring forward intelligence that informs responsive marketing decisions
Vendor & Contract Coordination
Coordinate vendor and partner onboarding logistics including NDAs, SOWs, invoicing, and PO management, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks
Manage contract and legal review workflows, routing agreements between marketing, legal, and vendors with clear tracking and timely follow-up
Support budget tracking and reconciliation alongside marketing leadership and Finance, keeping spend visibility accurate and current
Track vendor deliverables against scope and timelines, flag issues early, and escalate proactively
Executive Partnership
Work directly with the VP of Marketing & Demand Gen, managing their calendar, preparing them for key meetings with agendas and pre-reads, and ensuring follow-up actions are captured and closed
Coordinate closely with the VP of Brand & Creative and other senior marketing leaders to keep cross-functional priorities aligned
Build and pull together executive and senior leadership decks, synthesizing inputs from multiple stakeholders into clean, clear, presentation-ready materials
Serve as a trusted operational partner to marketing leadership: discreet, proactive, and always one step ahead
Process & Systems
Manage and organize marketing assets in Bynder (DAM), keeping libraries current and accessible across the team
Document and maintain repeatable processes so institutional knowledge doesn't live in one person's head
Own day-to-day team communication, file management, and collaboration through Microsoft 365, including Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, and related tools
Identify inefficiencies, propose solutions, and implement improvements without waiting for top-down direction
Who You Are
A strategic operator. You understand the big picture and know how to break it into the actions that move it forward. You're not just organizing work. You're making strategy executable.
Proactive, not reactive. You anticipate what's needed before being asked. You see around corners, send the reminder, and build the system because you know someone has to and it might as well be done right.
Comfortable with change. Priorities shift here, sometimes overnight. You reset quickly, re-prioritize without friction, and help the team do the same. Ambiguity is just part of the pace.
Diplomatically assertive. You can hold a deadline with a creative director and push back on a vendor timeline without burning a relationship. You know how to get things done through people you don't manage.
Data-literate. You're comfortable working with marketing metrics and performance reporting. You don't need to be a data scientist, but you know how to partner with analytics teams, ask the right questions, and translate data into insights that help leaders move faster.
Discreet and trusted. You'll work closely with senior leadership, handle sensitive contracts, and have visibility into budgets and vendor negotiations. You treat that access with professionalism and confidentiality.
A clear communicator. Whether it's a Teams message, an exec deck, a meeting recap, or a vendor brief, your communication is tight, actionable, and complete.
Qualifications
3-4 years of experience in marketing operations, project management, or a senior marketing coordination role, ideally in a consumer brand, DTC, or fast-paced e-commerce environment
Demonstrated ability to manage complex, cross-functional marketing projects with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
Hands-on experience with Wrike (or comparable PM tools like Asana, Monday, or Jira) for campaign and project tracking
Familiarity with Bynder or similar DAM platforms for asset management
Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, and the broader Office suite as daily tools
Comfort working with marketing data and performance reporting, coordinating with analytics partners and translating numbers into clear narratives for leadership
Experience coordinating vendor relationships, contracts, and logistics across multiple partners simultaneously
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field, or equivalent work experience
What Makes You Stand Out
You've worked as a right-hand operator to a senior marketing executive and know how to multiply their capacity, not just support it
You've built or improved systems (intake workflows, project templates, budget trackers, reporting dashboards) that the team actually adopted and relied on
You've coordinated vendors end-to-end: contracts, onboarding, deliverable tracking, and keeping everything compliant and on time
You've built executive-facing decks that synthesized work across multiple teams into a clear, compelling narrative
You understand enough about paid media, email, influencer, creative production, and retail to translate between those teams, even if you haven't run those channels yourself
You've thrived in a fast-moving, high-change environment where the roadmap shifts and execution still has to be excellent

What We Do
Welcome to Purple — home of the one, the only, the Purple Grid™. Ranked #1 in Customer Satisfaction with bed in a box mattresses by J.D. Power, including best in both support and comfort! We’re a one-of-a-kind innovation brand that is on a mission to meaningfully improve lives by helping Every Body get the comfort they deserve and the support they need. Our premium comfort innovation products start in the bedroom and extend beyond to provide optimal comfort everywhere you go. With a variety of mattresses, bedding, bases, seat cushions, dog beds, and more, Purple is quickly becoming the iconic color of true comfort, true innovation, and truly feeling great. While most new mattress companies only focus on just a simpler mattress buying experience with the same foam mattresses, Purple is committed to simply making a better mattress (with the better buying experience, to boot!). The only mattress with the Purple Grid™, Purple is instantly soft where you want it and firm where you need it – all at once. It's the comfort you crave, the support your back needs. Plus, 1,500+ open airways help dissipate body heat rather than trapping it, so you don't sleep hot. It all started in 1989 when two engineer brothers, Tony and Terry Pearce, set out with a mission to invent technology and create local jobs that meaningfully improve the lives of everyone involved. Over the last 30+ years, the Brothers Pearce have revolutionized the comfort industry by innovating various No Pressure® cushioning materials used in everything from wheelchairs and critical care hospital beds to sporting goods and high-end mattresses. Then, in September of 2015, they successfully launched The No-Compromise Purple® Mattress on Kickstarter, and it's been uphill from there — continually inventing, improving, and creating ways to make the world a more comfortable place.
