We are seeking a Sr. Manager, Financial Systems and Implementation in Chicago to oversee the management, integration and continuous improvement of financial systems and projects within Finance. This role will also lead process improvements and automation initiatives for the Finance team. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the team is prioritizing and supporting the organization’s overall goals. This role will report to the Chief Accounting Officer.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversee the organization’s financial systems, ensuring they are reliable, efficient, and effectively support finance and accounting functions.
  • Collaborate with finance team to identify needs and improve processes within the financial systems.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures and best practices.
  • Lead projects related to implementing new financial systems and new processes including planning, scheduling, and managing resources.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate financial workflows, enhancing accuracy and reducing manual effort.
  • Conduct training for end-users to ensure they understand system functionalities and can effectively use the tools provided.
  • Support finance and accounting teams with accurate and timely reporting capabilities.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on the performance of financial systems, project progress and ongoing initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • 5-8+ years of progressive accounting or experience
  • 8+ years of experience in financial system management
  • Strong understanding of financial processes, accounting principles and regulatory compliance
  • Experience with ERP, financial, treasury and FP&A software such as NetSuite
  • Proficiency in project management and familiarity with project methodologies
  • Strong leadership with proven ability to collaborate with business partners to drive change
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in fintech industry a plus
  • Experience in a private equity or venture capital backed company a plus
  • Ability to work from the Chicago office 2-3 days a week
