Operating at the intersection of commercial strategy and modern data science, this high-visibility role is dedicated to transforming complex data into a competitive advantage and building the roadmap for next-generation intelligence across Mars Pet Nutrition’s $7B business unit.
In this role, you will champion data excellence, drive category and pet-population forecasting, and lead the exploration of cutting-edge AI capabilities and BI tools. Collaborating closely with senior leadership, Data & Analytics (D&A), Marketing, and external innovation partners, you will have the autonomy and strategic scope to define "where we go next"—building scalable data assets, modernizing our tech ecosystem, and empowering insight-driven decision-making across the enterprise.
What are we looking for?

- Experience: 7+ years of progressive experience in data management, analytics, business intelligence, or commercial insights.
- Technical Expertise: Strong hands-on knowledge of modern data environments and analytics tools (Azure Databricks, SQL, Python, Alteryx) and BI platforms (PowerBI, Tableau).
- Data Ecosystem Mastery: Proven expertise managing and synthesizing large, complex datasets (POS, loyalty, panel, and syndicated data such as Nielsen/IRI).
- Strategic Roadmap & AI Integration: Demonstrated ability to translate commercial needs into scalable data products, with an aptitude for assessing AI readiness and operationalizing machine learning/AI solutions.
- Stakeholder Influence & Communication: Strong cross-functional collaboration, stakeholder management, and data storytelling skills with the ability to influence Director- and VP-level decision-makers.
- Execution & Governance: High analytical rigor with a track record in establishing data governance, data quality standards, and metric consistency.
Nice-to-Haves / Preferred:
- Experience within the CPG, Pet Care, Retail, or eCommerce/Retailer Media landscape.
- Familiarity with Nielsen syndicated metrics and panel-based consumer dynamics.
- Experience partnering with dotted-line technical/analytics teams or external vendor partners.
What will be your key responsibilities?
- Define Data Roadmap & Governance: Shape and execute the long-term data roadmap for the Insights & Growth Strategy organization; serve as the business owner for Insights data assets to ensure data integrity, consistency, and scalability.
- Drive Advanced Analytics & Strategic Forecasting: Oversee category dynamics, volume modeling, and pet population forecasting to guide annual operating planning and strategic decision-making for a $7B business.
- Pioneer AI & Next-Gen Capabilities: Assess tech readiness for AI integration and spearhead the development of innovative analytical solutions, self-service tools, and conversational AI/chatbots for commercial and marketing teams.
- Evolve BI Platforms & Tooling: Lead the product enhancement roadmap for core analytics platforms and dashboards (e.g., PowerBI, Cascade), defining capabilities and driving user adoption.
- Expand the Data Ecosystem: Proactively source, evaluate, and integrate emerging first-, second-, and third-party data sources to increase market coverage and analytical capabilities.
- Partner Cross-Functionally: Collaborate closely with D&A, Data Foundations, Tiger Analytics, Marketing, and Global teams to operationalize data pipelines, align calculation methodologies, and streamline analytics delivery.
- Champion Data Storytelling & Best Practices: Guide commercial teams on data usage, interpretation, and analytical best practices to maximize the business impact of insights across the enterprise.
