Sr. Manager, Distribution Center Operations

Position Summary

The Senior Manager, Distribution Center Operations leads high-volume eCommerce Distribution Center operations through a team of Operations Managers and Front-Line Supervisors. This role is accountable for safety, service, productivity, quality, inventory accuracy, employee engagement, talent development, and financial performance.

This leader drives operational excellence, develops high-performing teams, and partners cross-functionally to achieve business objectives and build a culture of accountability.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Leadership:

• Lead end-to-end DC operations including receiving, inventory, replenishment, fulfillment, and shipping.
• Deliver results against established safety, service, productivity, quality, inventory, and cost metrics.
• Manage labor planning, staffing, and resource allocation to support business demand and peak periods.
• Use operational data to identify performance gaps, drive corrective actions, and communicate results, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership.
• Drive consistent execution across shifts and departments.

People Leadership & Talent Development:

• Lead and develop Operations Managers and Supervisors supporting a large hourly workforce across multiple shifts and departments.
• Build leadership capability through coaching, performance management, succession planning, and development of future leaders.
• Establish clear expectations and foster a culture of accountability, engagement, inclusion, and recognition.
• Partner with Human Resources to attract, retain, and develop high-performing talent.

Continuous Improvement & Technology:

• Drive continuous improvement and process optimization to increase efficiency, reduce waste, improve scalability, and control costs.
• Apply root-cause analysis and data-driven decision making to solve complex operational challenges.
• Support optimization and implementation of WMS, LMS, automation, and other DC technologies.
• Lead change management, process standardization, and adoption of new operating methods.

Financial, Safety & Quality Management:

• Manage labor costs, operating expenses, and budget performance to achieve financial objectives.
• Promote a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with Safety, Loss Prevention, and Inventory Control to maintain a safe, secure, compliant operation.
• Ensure operational controls support inventory accuracy, quality standards, and audit readiness.

Cross-Functional Leadership:

• Partner with Transportation, CI, Customer Service, Finance, Technology, Inventory, Human Resources, and other business partners to achieve operational and company objectives.
• Serve as a key site leader, aligning priorities, removing barriers, and driving cross-functional problem solving.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in distribution, fulfillment, warehousing, or supply chain operations.
• 5+ years leading exempt leaders, including Operations Managers and Supervisors.
• Experience leading large-scale eCommerce, Retail, or omnichannel fulfillment operations.
• Proven success delivering safety, service, quality, productivity, inventory, and cost results.
• Experience leading continuous improvement, operational transformation, and change initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of WMS, LMS, automation, and distribution center technology.
