What we are looking for
We are looking for a professional with a genuine interest in crisis management, who is able to maintain clear judgment and communicate effectively in complex and high‑pressure situations, to join Edelman China’s Crisis & Risk Management team and support domestic and international clients in addressing a wide range of reputational risk challenges.
Key Responsibilities
•Participate in and lead the full lifecycle management of client reputational crises, including risk prevention and risk preparation (risk assessment and readiness, scenario planning, crisis training and simulations); ad-hoc crisis response and communications support; communications planning for post‑crisis reputational recovery
•Provide clients with clear and actionable judgment and recommendations under high‑pressure conditions
•Independently drive overall project execution, coordinating cross‑team resources to ensure high‑quality delivery
•Support communications with key stakeholders and media monitoring efforts, including strategy discussions and preparation of communications materials
•Work closely with the team to address complex issues and evolving client needs
Qualifications
•Five years or more of experience in corporate communications, crisis management, or a related field
•Hands‑on experience handling real crises or highly sensitive issues, with the ability to make independent judgments under pressure
•Strong independent project management capability, able to drive projects from initiation through delivery
•Strong team collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Chinese and English, with the ability to clearly convey complex issues and draft core materials
•Sustained interest and commitment to crisis management, sensitive issues, and the public opinion landscape
Preferred (but not required)
•Background in key media roles (e.g., prior media experience or extensive experience working closely with major media outlets)
•Experience in financial communications, investor relations, or projects involving listed companies
•Experience supporting companies expanding overseas, cross‑market or international communications projects
•Familiarity with complex stakeholder environments or highly regulated industries
