The Sr Contracts Manager is a strategic role to build and oversee a contracts organization that will rely on (i) greater automation to increase speed to contracting (ii) process driven to remove inconsistency and ambiguity in contract decisions, roles and responsibilities (iii) greater use of technology to ease operations (iv) develop playbooks and other guidance to ensure sound decision making.
Position Responsibilities:
- Responsible for contract negotiations for complex sales order transactions in APAC and GC including bioinformatics and asset financing deals (in addition to supporting regular transactions when team members are busy or on leave)
- Provide guidance and oversight of sales order transactions in APAC handled by team members
- Manage tender process in APAC with the help of team members
- Leads the contracts team in the use of company designated tools, compliance with processes, dissemination of updates
- Communicate processes, identify responsibilities, provides training to commercial and functional leads in sales order transactions
- Process improvements of tenders for markets such as Singapore, India, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Australia
- Enable tracking of previously agreed customer provisions thereby facilitate negotiations with repeat customers
- Develop matrix of internal approvals required for deviations/ exceptions
- Formalize a Contract Analyst playbook or manual available as a file or on CLM
- Systems improvement, in particular contract automation, contract routing, ensuring review of orders, communication to TAMs and Customer Service
- Develop agreement database within CLM which various stakeholders can view and use (past and present)
- With the help of Legal develop and localize where appropriate Contract Terms and Conditions for new products and new markets
- Incorporate Corporate directives on compliance, ethical use, privacy, human rights and other initiatives into our contracts T&C and our contracting process
- Improve Contract Reporting and validation of report data

- Requires a legal, business or software-related bachelor’s degree. May require an advanced degree (Master's), in applicable field or equivalent.

- Managers at this level may become involved in elevated issues arising from daily activities.
- Applies broad management, functional expertise/knowledge to subordinates’ managers and staff members.
- Will have developed key relationships with important customers and suppliers.
