Job Description
This position will require 2x a week in office at our Boston location.
This role requires deep analytical expertise, including the ability to synthesize and integrate various aspects of a competitor's business. The ideal candidate will be adept at translating this intelligence into actionable insights and recommendations, particularly for sales, marketing, and business decision-making. A significant part of the role involves creating executive talk tracks, developing competitive battle cards, establishing a mechanism for real-time intelligence updates, and developing comprehensive competitor profile reports.
As a Verisk Competitive Intelligence Analyst, you will
- Establish a mechanism for real-time competitive intelligence updates to empower our organization with current information and provide context to enhance our ability to respond rapidly to market opportunities.
- Create macro-themed insights for Verisk executives, focusing on broad, overarching trends and their implications for Verisk’s business.
- Create competitor profile reports that analyze and summarize key information about Verisk competitors. This report acts as a strategic tool to understand their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in relation to Verisk.
- Assist with competitor deep dives, including understanding their products, services, and pricing. This includes detailed win/loss analyses, product and pricing analysis, market trends, and industry analysis.
- Develop product-level competitive battle cards and quick reference guides in partnership with integrated marketing and product management.
- Help write a bi-weekly CI Digest. This digest will support bi-weekly communications of curated competitive intelligence. It will pull information primarily from competitor press releases, providing a snapshot of developments and strategic moves within the industry and adding context.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, an MBA degree is preferred.
- ~ 7 years of experience in B2B competitive intelligence is key, preferably within the insurance or insurtech industry.
- Understanding of the insurance industry, including key players, market dynamics, and regulatory environment.
- High level of curiosity and a proactive mindset towards continuous learning and improvement.
- Strong ethical standards and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and synthesize large volumes of data into actionable insights.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling narratives and executive talk tracks.
- Experience presenting recommendations to senior leadership.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally with marketing, product management, and sales teams.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build relationships across all levels of the organization.
Additional Information
Salary - Min.: $125,000.00
Salary - Max.: $155,000.00
