About the role and team
As Head of Consumer for APAC Delivery Central Operations, you will own the central consumer strategy for One Delivery across Restaurants, Grocery and Retail, leading a team of approximately 12 across Membership, Consumer Strategy, Lifecycle & Investment, Growth Bets/XLOB & Partnerships, and Core Consumer.
You will lead the Membership Pod, APAC’s strategic engine for Uber One, shaping the strategy, pricing, benefits, growth targets and investment budget. Working closely with country GMs, the team will translate strategy into execution, owning forecasting and target governance, product rollouts, and centrally delivered, productised and GCRM-led campaigns where regional scale and standardisation create the greatest impact.
Beyond Membership, you will drive regional consistency and best practice by establishing the frameworks, guardrails and shared infrastructure that guide APAC markets. You will oversee regional capital allocation governance for consumer investment and bring Grocery and Retail into a unified consumer operating model.
As a trusted advisor to country GMs and the Regional GM, you will shape the APAC consumer agenda and drive outcomes through cross-functional partnerships, including Product. Success in this role requires a builder’s mindset, the ability to influence senior stakeholders, and a deep passion for driving customer engagement, loyalty and long-term growth.
What you'll do
- Team leadership: Lead, develop and scale a ~12-person multi-layer organisation across five consumer domains, including managing and coaching domain leads.
- Membership Operating Pod: Own APAC Uber One as the region's dedicated membership engine — recommending strategy, pricing, benefit construct, targets and budget asks for GM decision, then owning execution of productised and GCRM-led acquisition, engagement and retention campaigns and overall membership campaign strategy.
- Consumer strategy and investment governance: Support Capital allocation for eater investments – managing measurement and tracking and allocation framework.
- Growth bets, XLOB and partnerships: Deliver high level GTM for APAC Growth Bets, and enable strategic partnerships via opportunity identification and building regional playbooks.
- Consumer product verticals: Own the consumer and membership product verticals for APAC — discovery, merchandising, share of voice, affordability visibility and core app usability across restaurants, grocery and retail — and lead interactions with Global Product to prioritise APAC asks and secure roadmap outcomes.
- Central-to-local operating model: Define and continuously refine the R&R split between Central and Local Consumer Ops, ensuring central standards create leverage rather than duplicate work at country level.
- Build once, scale regionally: Establish the centres of excellence, playbooks and automation that let APAC do common work once and well, freeing local teams for hyperlocal execution — including in new and sparse markets.
- Stakeholder management: Serve as a senior partner to the Regional GM, country GMs and local consumer ops leads, and to Marketplace Ops, Merchant Ops, Marketing, Strategic Finance and Product, turning their inputs into decision-ready recommendations.
Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in operations, strategy, or business leadership, with a proven track record of leading large-scale, high-impact consumer growth initiatives.
- Leadership: Experience leading, mentoring and developing high-performing teams, including leading through managers.
- Advanced problem-solving skills: Demonstrated ability to tackle complex, ambiguous problems and develop practical, scalable solutions at pace.
- Business and financial acumen: High degree of business and financial acumen, with the analytical skill set to make investment and capital allocation trade-offs using data.
- Stakeholder influence: Proven ability to build and manage relationships with senior leaders and influence decisions at the highest levels of the organisation, without direct authority.
- Exceptional communication: Outstanding communication and storytelling ability, articulating complex problems concisely for executive audiences.
- Collaboration skills: Exceptional relationship-building skills across diverse, cross-functional and multi-country teams.
