Sr. Manager-Business Development (Toronto)
Job Summary:
The Sr. Manager-Business Development is responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth by identifying new market opportunities, strengthening strategic partnerships, and expanding customer footprint. In parallel, the role works closely with Account Managers and Vendors to identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities, enhance account strategies, and maintain a unified and consistent approach to customer engagement.
Key responsibilities:
• Identify new business opportunities across target markets and industry segments.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with vendors and strategic partners to align joint initiatives, incentives, and go-to-market strategies.
• Work collaboratively with Account Managers to develop account strategies, uncover cross-sell and upsell opportunities, and support complex deal cycles.
• Conduct market research to understand competitive positioning, pricing trends, and emerging customer needs.
• Track and manage vendor certifications across the organization, ensuring required technical and sales accreditations are current to maintain partner status, rebate eligibility, and program compliance.
• Coordinate with technical, finance, and operations teams to ensure proposals are commercially sound and operationally feasible.
• Track Events performance metrics and partnership effectiveness
• Represent the company at vendor meetings, events, and client engagements as needed.
• Responsible for vendor engagement planning, quarterly business reviews, performance tracking, and aligning vendor incentives with organizational objectives.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, finance, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
• Proven experience in business development, Channel Sales, or vendor Management (5+ Years of Experience).
• Strong understanding of partner programs, vendor tiers, and certification frameworks.
• Ability to translate market insights into actionable growth strategies.
• Demonstrates ownership and strategic thinking
• Ability to influence both external partners and internal stakeholders to achieve measurable business outcomes.
• Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with sales, technical, and vendor teams.
• Commercial awareness with solid negotiation and presentation skills.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to translate market insights into actionable plans.
• Self-driven, results-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation includes base and commissions.
