TheKey Home Care is seeking a Sr. Manager, AI Strategy & Integration to lead the design, governance, and execution of enterprise AI initiatives across our 110+ location footprint. This role will own the AI strategy roadmap, manage a cross-functional integration team, and drive measurable business outcomes by embedding AI into clinical operations, workforce management, and administrative workflows. Reporting directly to the SVP of IT, the Sr. Manager will serve as the primary bridge between IT, clinical operations, finance, and external technology partners, ensuring every AI initiative aligns with organizational priorities, regulatory requirements, and our commitment to delivering exceptional home care.

Key Responsibilities

AI Strategy & Governance

  • Define and maintain the enterprise AI strategy and multi-year roadmap aligned to TheKey's strategic pillars, including clinical quality, workforce optimization, and revenue integrity.

  • Establish and chair the AI Governance Committee; develop policies for responsible AI use, model risk management, bias monitoring, and regulatory compliance (HIPAA, state home care regulations).

  • Present business cases, ROI analyses, and architectural recommendations to the Architecture Review Board (ARB) for funding and prioritization decisions.

  • Define KPIs, success metrics, and a continuous-improvement feedback loop for all AI pilots and production deployments.

Integration & Delivery Leadership

  • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing AI Integration team (engineers, data engineers, and vendor liaisons) responsible for delivering AI solutions from proof-of-concept through production.

  • Own end-to-end delivery of AI-powered integration projects, including scheduling automation (Arya), clinical documentation (FreedAI), and contract intelligence tooling.

  • Architect integrations between WellSky (core HIS/EMR), Google BigQuery/Vertex AI, and third-party SaaS platforms using APIs, middleware, and event-driven patterns.

  • Drive change management and adoption programs in partnership with operations and training teams to ensure frontline staff and clinicians realize the full value of AI-enabled tools.

Enterprise Architecture & Data

  • Serve as the AI domain lead within the enterprise architecture function, ensuring AI components adhere to platform-first principles and the Google Cloud target architecture (BigQuery, Vertex AI, Gemini).

  • Partner with data engineering to design and maintain curated, governed data pipelines that feed AI/ML models with high-quality, timely data.

  • Evaluate, score, and recommend AI/ML vendors and tools through the IT intake and scoping process; manage vendor relationships post-selection.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Translate complex AI concepts into clear, actionable narratives for executive leadership, clinical directors, and field operations teams.

  • Facilitate cross-functional workshops to identify high-impact AI use cases and prioritize them against business value, feasibility, and risk.

  • Represent IT and AI strategy in executive forums, Town Halls, and board-level briefings.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field; Master's degree preferred.

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in IT, data engineering, or AI/ML, with at least 3 years in a people-management role leading cross-functional delivery teams.

  • Demonstrated track record of defining and executing an AI or advanced analytics strategy in a multi-site, operationally complex environment.

  • Hands-on familiarity with cloud AI/ML platforms (Google Vertex AI, BigQuery ML, or equivalent AWS/Azure services) and modern integration patterns (REST APIs, event streaming, ETL/ELT).

  • Experience managing vendor evaluation, selection, and integration within a governed IT intake framework.

  • Strong understanding of healthcare data privacy and compliance requirements (HIPAA, BAAs, SOC 2, ISO 27001).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to C-suite and clinical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in home health, home care, or post-acute care settings.

  • Familiarity with WellSky or similar home health information systems.

  • Google Cloud Professional certifications (e.g., Professional Machine Learning Engineer, Professional Data Engineer).

  • Experience with generative AI platforms (Gemini, OpenAI) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.

  • Change management certification (e.g., Prosci ADKAR) or demonstrated experience leading technology adoption programs.

  • Background in IT governance frameworks (ITIL, COBIT) and architecture review board processes.
