POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Manager, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering part of the Americas Regional AME Team will lead and oversight his team on Thermal BU Projects, focused on Monterrey Operations leading site readiness, site setup, product transfers, new product development programs, process improvements, capital projects to support Growth for the target sites and the standardization of manufacturing processes across Vertiv plants. This position will support and collaborate with Global AME on deployment of standards and technology globally. Interact directly with Design Engineering, Program Manager and Operations Team at the target site to coordinate and execute NPDI milestones and deliverables.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accountable and Responsible for Site Startup and Readiness for new Santa Catarina Plants
  • Accountable and Responsible for Line Readiness and Product Launch or Product Transfer within plants
  • Work closely with Program Managers, Line of Business Leaders and pertinent functional groups to ensure manufacturing plans are aligned to Product Roadmaps and properly communicated.
  • Responsible for End of Line Testing Equipment, Parameters, scripts and Capex associated
  • Develop Advanced Manufacturing Engineers with a steadfast commitment to mentoring and leading from the front, responsible for team performance and growth.
  • Provide tactical leadership to ensure the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team will:

    • Develop and implement manufacturing plans for new products
    • Provide direct support for plant-to-plant product transfers and new product development programs.
    • Support Vertiv manufacturing operations using standard processes, equipment, and manufacturing methods. 
    • Identify, justify, pilot, and commission Advanced Manufacturing technologies, processes, equipment, and practices. Capital projects that support Growth, NPDI, Product Transfers, Technical Capacity and Footprint associated
    • Provide support for manufactured cost analyses of new and existing products. 
    • Responsible for the execution of Manufacturing Readiness Checklist and deliverables
    • Supports / Accountable for Manufacturing Prototype builds along with the local operation team
    • Implement best manufacturing practices for existing processes and provide multi-site manufacturing engineering support. 
    • Assist with business-critical capital projects including facility planning, layout, and cost justification. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

BSME/IE/Business Operations Management and 7+ years manufacturing experience or equivalent demonstrated experience

Preferred

MSME/IE/MBA and 7+ years of Advanced Manufacturing experience, Plant setups, NPDI, R&D, Production Startup, Program Management and Technology / Automation

Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma formal training or certifications. 

Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge of formalized Advanced and Lean Manufacturing applications.
  • Extensive experience in New Product Development and Product Transfers.
  • Excellent vertical communication, interpersonal, and motivation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively; ability to coach, train, facilitate and lead teams effectively in a transformational work environment.
  • Demonstrated strong project management and technical skills; analytical skills; PC skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results through team building and teamwork.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Business Operations Management and 7+ years manufacturing experience (or equivalent)
  • Extensive knowledge of Advanced and Lean Manufacturing applications
  • Experience in New Product Development (NPDI), product transfers, and production startup
  • Experience with end-of-line testing equipment, test parameters, scripts, and associated CAPEX
  • Demonstrated project management, technical, analytical, and PC skills
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, train, lead teams and drive results through teamwork
  • Support for capital projects including facility planning, layout, and cost justification
  • MS degree in ME/IE or MBA and experience in plant setups, NPDI, R&D, program management, technology/automation
  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma formal training or certifications
  • Willingness/ability to travel approximately 25%
