Sr. Manager, Accounting

YETI is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager that will be based in Austin, TX, and be a key member of the Finance and Accounting organization.  The role reports to our Accounting Director and will lead a team of 3-5 individuals.  As Senior Manager, you will lead a team primarily responsible for ensuring accurate and timely reporting of YETI’s order-to-cash process, lease accounting, intangible assets, and marketing spend.

The role is a dynamic and challenging role that will provide an outstanding opportunity to directly contribute to the future success of YETI.  To be successful, the Senior Manager must be able to communicate effectively across the organization, creatively solve problems, scale processes, and coach fellow team members. Key internal business partners include Commercial Sales, Retail Operations, Legal & Intellectual Property, FP&A, Financial Reporting, Internal Audit and Tax.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of 3-5 accounting professionals in a manner that creates positive morale, personal development, and fosters engagement with business partners
• Lead day-to-day accounting activities to ensure compliance with US GAAP, internal policies, SOX controls, and external audits
• Manage and coordinate close process for areas of responsibility, including reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations
• Monitors changes in order-to-cash process and ensure proper recognition of revenue
• Manage accounting procedures for significant areas of judgment, including revenue cut-off, sales returns allowance, and treatment of sale incentive offered to wholesale dealers.
• Manage the end-to-end accounting process for leases, including our YETI retail stores. Responsibilities include ensuring leases are properly classified (operating vs finance), assets and liabilities are capitalized timely and lease expense is properly recognized
• Drive continuous improvements and reduce risk through process refinement, automation and leveraging technologies
• Participate and lead key strategic projects that impact areas of responsibility
• Partner closely with FP&A and Financial Reporting on explaining key financial variances
• Help define, document, and implement policies around key accounting areas

Qualifications and Attributes

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting and/or Finance
• CPA required
• At least 8 years of accounting experience with at least 3 years of public accounting preferred.
• At least 4 years of experience managing and developing team members
• Consumer product, retail, and/or manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with SAP/BPC preferred and experience with major ERP experience required.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to lead, coach and develop team members with diverse experiences and backgrounds
• Ability to manage multiple/changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations
• Get-it-done mindset - you're humble, able to handle stress well and scrappy!
• Self-starter and persistent with strong analytical and organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
