Summary of Role
GlobalFoundries is expanding its Tax Operations function and is seeking an experienced Tax Operations Manager – International Tax to join our global tax team. This role will lead the development and management of an in-house Tax Operations Center of Excellence (COE) to standardize, scale, and optimize global tax processes.
As part of the International Tax team, you will focus on international tax compliance, tax accounting, transfer pricing, and global tax initiatives while partnering with leadership to drive operational excellence and improve the global tax function.
Your Job (Essential Responsibilities)
  • Lead U.S. international tax compliance processes, including preparation and review of Forms 5471, 8865, 8858, 1118 and related filings.
  • Oversee international tax accounting under ASC 740, including accounting for global subsidiaries.
  • Develop and manage transfer pricing strategies, policies, and intercompany agreements to ensure compliance with OECD and local country requirements.
  • Monitor and interpret global tax law changes (e.g., Pillar Two, BEAT, GILTI, FDII, Subpart F) and assess their impact on the company’s global tax position.
  • Lead the implementation of Pillar Two requirements, including data collection, modeling, and reporting processes.
  • Model and track global tax positions, including forecasting impacts on the effective tax rate (ETR).
  • Support global tax planning initiatives, including business restructurings, M&A transactions, withholding tax analysis, and tax incentives analysis.
  • Perform tax technical research and provide guidance on U.S. federal and international tax laws.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional tax teams and manage relationships with external tax advisors.
  • Drive process improvements through standardization, automation, and digitization of tax operations.
  • Manage multiple projects, prioritize deliverables, and effectively communicate outcomes to leadership.
  • Develop, train, and mentor junior tax professionals.
Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business discipline (MBA preferred).
  • Certification: Enrolled Agent (EA) or equivalent professional certification.
  • Experience: Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in tax, with exposure to international tax operations.
  • Hands-on experience with international tax compliance forms such as 5471, 8865, 8858, and 1118.
  • Strong knowledge of ASC 740 and international tax accounting concepts.
  • Familiarity with global tax reform provisions including GILTI, BEAT, FDII, and Pillar Two.
  • Proven project management experience with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work across all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional and geographically diverse teams.
  • Willingness to work in U.S. time zone support hours (approximately 3 PM to midnight IST).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a Big Four accounting firm or equivalent consulting background.
  • Advanced degree (MBA or Master’s in Taxation).
  • Experience with tax technology tools, automation, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Proven track record of leading process improvements and operational efficiencies in a global tax environment.
