As a Senior Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Electronic Trade Infrastructure team, you exhibit both depth and breadth of knowledge regarding software, applications, and technical processes across multiple technical disciplines. You also have a specialization in a specific domain within infrastructure engineering to drive programs or initiatives consisting of multiple technologies and applications.
The ETS Facilities Engineer / Implementation Coordinator is a key member of the Global ETS Facility Management team, responsible for the strategic design and ongoing management of the physical plant (space and power) across Americas colocation facilities under ETS oversight. The role ensures sites adhere to JPMC enterprise standards, as well as additional standards required for electronic trading and colocation environments.
ETS launched a global Facilities Program in 2018 to drive consistent standards and operations across a 40+ site colocation estate. This role supports execution of program work and business-as-usual facilities change and maintenance activities. In addition, the role coordinates server and network physical implementation work through third-party smart hands, including customer acceptance and signoff and coordination of ETS Network and Server platform resources for on-site work.
Job responsibilities
- Respond to the Facilities Survey to document how each site is managed and what systems/tools are used to support operations.
- Identify and implement site-specific remediation based on Facilities Survey findings.
- Conduct site assessment visits at all locations.
- Translate project requirements into build artifacts, including floor plans, rack elevations, low-voltage patching schedules, high-voltage patching schedules, structured cabling designs, and cable routing schematics.
- Translate firm-wide (DCS) facilities standards and/or ETS bespoke facilities standards into all build artifacts.
- Ensure hardware installed/supported by ETS is appropriately represented in the JPMC Global Product Catalog.
- Interface between Facilities and ETS tooling (e.g., NetBox, NetPortal, Splunk, and other tools).
- Participate in bench testing of new equipment (host, network, power/PDU).
- Perform asset management in the firm’s system of record.
- Update asset management systems for moves/adds/changes/decommissions (BAU work and reconciliation from program-driven site visits).
- Manage invoice processing for moves/adds/changes/decommissions.
Work Schedule & Onsite Requirement
- Work schedule is Tuesday–Saturday.
- Must be onsite in the data center at least one (1) day per week (more onsite time may be required based on site visits and project activity).
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 10 years specializing in facilities design and implementation (data center/colocation environments).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an IT role at a Commercial or Investment Bank (or similarly regulated environment).
- Working knowledge of host and networking systems.
- Experience in applied deployment of systems, networking, and physical infrastructure (space, power, cabling).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Team player adept at collaborating with internal and external parties to develop solutions for the business.
- Strong decision-maker, with transparent and timely communication and follow-up.
- Excellent listening, writing, speaking, presentation, and facilitation skills.
