Job Purpose
This position is responsible for the regionalization and new product development of centrifugal compressors, leading oil free centrifugal compressor structural design & component development, to deliver optimized design solutions with optimal performance, best cost, highest reliability and manufacturability.
Key Responsibilities
Product Design & Development
- Lead structural design and deliver high-quality engineering drawings, specifications, and BOMs to support successful product development and production of Oil free centrifugal compressors.
- Perform engineering analysis including stress, vibration, thermal deformation, and design verification to ensure performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost targets are achieved.
Lean NPD Execution
- Lead or support product development activities from concept through production release.
- Conduct design reviews, manage technical risks, ensure compliance with engineering standards, and coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives and schedules.
Component Development & Qualification
- Drive component development, validation, localization, supplier technical evaluation, and issue resolution throughout the product lifecycle.
- Utilize DFMEA, simulation tools, testing methodologies to identify and mitigate technical and manufacturing risks.
Technical Analysis, Innovation & Problem Solving
- Lead complex technical investigations, root cause analysis, and advanced engineering studies.
- Driving innovation, value engineering, and patentable technology development to improve product competitiveness and performance.
Engineering Standards & Knowledge Management
- Develop and maintain engineering standards, design guidelines, best practices, technical databases, and lessons learned.
- Mentor engineers and promote technical excellence across the organization.
Product Support & Continuous Improvement
- Support production, product maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with global engineering teams to drive product enhancements and knowledge sharing.
Educational and Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering or other related areas
- More than 15 years (BS) or 10 years (MS) working experience in centrifugal compressors or turbomachinery.
Requirements and Attributes
- Proven technical knowledge on centrifugal compressor structure and design principles.
- Strong Knowledge of Oil Free compressor structure design
- Proficient in 3D modeling tools with solid knowledge of GD&T and high-quality engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with digital simulation tools.
- Familiar with FMEA methodologies and tools.
- Knowledge of Rotor dynamic & Aero dynamic is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong sense of ownership, cost awareness, and engineering mindset.
- Good communication skills and ability to work across teams.
- Effective communication skills in English.
