Sr. Network WAN Engineer

· As a Senior Network WAN Engineer, you will be responsible for the design of Wide Area Network (WAN) infrastructure to ensure robust and reliable connectivity across the organization.

· You will liaise with external service providers to ensure stable day-to-day connectivity operations including capacity and bandwidth management.

· You will play a key role in leading projects related to network enhancements and optimizations, including the integration of new technologies and the improvement of network performance and security.

· The role demands active collaboration with cross-functional teams to support ongoing and upcoming IT initiatives, ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic objectives and compliance with industry standards.

Job Responsibility:

· Defines network design policies, philosophies, and criteria.

· Creates and maintains network designs.

· Ensures that network performance, recovery, and security meet agreed service agreement standards.

· Manage WAN optimization projects to improve data transmission speeds and reduce latency across geographical locations.

· Oversee regular network performance monitoring and conduct detailed network analyses to preempt potential issues.

· Lead network upgrade initiatives, including the evaluation and deployment of new hardware and software technologies to enhance connectivity.

· Ensure disaster recovery and business continuity measures are in place and effective by maintaining redundant network systems and backing up network data.

· Collaborate with security teams to implement robust security frameworks and compliance protocols across the network infrastructure.

· Provide expert-level support and technical guidance to junior team members, fostering a collaborative team environment.

· Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of network deployments, configurations, and upgrades.

· Participate in vendor management and stakeholder meetings to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met and to facilitate continuous improvement.

· Assist in budget and resource planning.

· Manage network environments using Cisco technologies on LAN and WAN.

· Design and implement Cisco SD-WAN network configurations.

· Articulating on the benefits of Cisco SD-WAN to clients

· Providing technical demonstrations and use cases of the system

· Handling circuit ordering, procurement and troubleshooting with carrier.

· Assist in quarterly budget and resource planning.

Job Qualification:

· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

· Minimum of 7 years of experience in network engineering with a focus on WAN technologies.

· Strong understanding of network infrastructure and hardware with proficiency in Cisco or similar technologies.

· Solid understanding of Routing: EIGRP, BGP, MPLS, policy-based routing, quality of service (QoS), DMVPN

· Strong expertise in Switching: HSRP, DHCP Snooping, Spanning-tree security, Port security.

· Proven ability to create and maintain network documentation and configuration files.

· Demonstrable experience with network performance tuning and troubleshooting tools.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proficient in English.

· Certifications such as CCNP or CCIE are highly desirable.

· Familiarity with cloud technologies and services, such as AWS or Azure, is a plus.

· Ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and with multiple stakeholders.
