ShipperHQ is headquartered in Austin, TX making a big impact in the e-commerce shipping space. Founded in 2009, we are a premier supplier of shipping software for e-commerce sites, selling to both SMB and Enterprise customers. We have 50+ team members spread across the globe with 30+ members based in Austin, Texas. We are seeking an ambitious and self-motivated individual with a positive attitude and a strong collaborative mindset.

ShipperHQ is looking for an experienced Java engineer to bring exceptional skills to help build our market-leading shipping management platform. We are looking to expand our team, and are searching for the right candidate to provide technical input, quality code, and elegant solutions.

Your Impact:

• Help build and maintain our existing Java core product

• Work closely with product and engineering team members to bring new features to the product

• Collaborate with technical support to resolve operational issues

• Hands-on work with existing systems whilst maintaining quality and stability

• Collaborate with other engineers

What We’re Looking For:

• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer

• Extensive hands-on development experience in Java (5+ years)

• Solid understanding of software development fundamentals including design patterns and object-oriented programming

• Proven ability to write clean, testable code

• Experience with agile methodologies and delivering solutions in an iterative way

• Experience in a startup or small company environment

• Adaptable and responsive

• Sets a high bar for quality

• Strong communication skills and organizational skills

• Willingness to learn new languages, technologies, and stacks

• Degree in computer science, software, or equivalent

Bonus points if you have experience in any or all of the following:

• React

• NodeJS

• GraphQL

• AWS

• Rails

• SaaS or high-traffic environments

Logistics:

• This is a full-time position working out of our Austin, TX office 2 days a week
