Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex technology initiatives, with a focus on Infrastructure and Operations (I&O). This role is responsible for driving successful project execution while partnering with technical and business teams to enhance system reliability, scalability, and operational effectiveness.
In addition to delivery leadership, this role plays a key part in managing and prioritizing the infrastructure project backlog and contributing to the maturity of project management practices across IT.
Responsibilities
Project Delivery
Lead end-to-end delivery of infrastructure and operations initiatives (e.g., infrastructure upgrades, network enhancements, platform modernization, IT service management improvements)
Define project scope, timelines, budgets, and deliverables in partnership with stakeholders
Coordinate cross-functional teams across infrastructure, network, security, and operations
Manage risks, issues, and dependencies to ensure successful delivery with minimal business disruption
Ensure alignment with IT service management processes (change, incident, problem, release)
Drive successful transition from project completion to steady-state operations
Backlog Management and Prioritization
Partner with Infrastructure and Operations leaders to manage and prioritize the infrastructure project backlog
Align initiatives with strategic priorities, operational needs, and resource capacity
Support sequencing and execution of work to maximize delivery efficiency and value
Provide visibility into backlog status, tradeoffs, and timelines
Collaboration and Communication
Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including IT leadership and business partners
Provide clear and consistent communication on project status, risks, and outcomes
Translate technical details into business-relevant insights to support decision-making
Facilitate alignment across teams and manage stakeholder expectation
PMO and Continuous Improvement
Contribute to the advancement of IT project management practices, standards, and tools
Support improvements in project intake, backlog management, prioritization, and reporting
Promote consistency, transparency, and accountability in delivery execution
Share lessons learned and support continuous improvement efforts
Mentorship and Team Support
Mentor and support project managers, technical leads, and business analysts as needed
Reinforce strong planning, execution, and communication practices
Contribute to building a high-performing delivery culture
Education & Experience
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS, Business, or related field
Minimum of 5 years of IT project management experience delivering complex technology initiatives
Demonstrated experience leading infrastructure and operations-focused projects
Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, systems, and service delivery environments
Experience managing or contributing to project backlogs, prioritization, or portfolio planning
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
Preferred:
PMP or equivalent certification
ITIL, experience with IT service management frameworks, or M&A
Experience with Agile or hybrid delivery approaches
Familiarity with tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, or MS Project
Experience with change management tools and/or methodologies
Work Environment
This position operates in a hybrid work environment, with a combination of on-site office presence and remote work. The role involves primarily sedentary work, with extended periods of sitting and frequent use of computers and standard office equipment. Regular participation in virtual and in-person meetings is required, including collaboration with team members and stakeholders across multiple locations.
Salary Range: $120,000-$140,000 annually
