Sr IT Operations Engineer

• Maintain and support AWS infrastructure including EC2, VPC, ALB/ELB, and IAM (roles, policies, access control), by applying professional-level technical skill and judgment for non-routine technical solutions
• Manage and troubleshoot batch processes using BMC Control-M
• Automate operational tasks using Bash, Python, PowerShell, and tools like Terraform (OpenTofu) and Ansible
• Administer Linux and basic Windows systems, including software installation and configuration
• Leverage basic Kubernetes (K8s) knowledge for container-based workload support
• Monitor, tracks and records system performance and utilization metrics, respond to incidents, and ensure high availability
• Participate on-call rotation
• Communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive stability, scalability, and automation

• 5+ years of experience in IT operations, infrastructure, or cloud engineering roles
• Strong working knowledge of AWS services including EC2, VPC, ALB/ELB, and IAM
• Proficiency in Linux system administration and troubleshooting
• Experience with scripting and automation using Bash, Python, and PowerShell
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform (OpenTofu)
• Hands-on experience with BMC Control-M for batch job scheduling and management
• Some experience with Windows OS for basic troubleshooting and configuration
• Comfortable with a rotational on-call schedule
• Basic understanding of Kubernetes (K8s) environments
• Experience with Ansible for configuration management
• Exposure to CI/CD tools, DevOps practices, and monitoring systems (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus)
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively
• Understanding of ITIL, incident, and change management practices

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Sr. IT Operation Engineer to join our infrastructure and operations team. This role is vital to the ongoing stability, scalability, and automation of our cloud and on-premises systems. You're responsible for utilizing complex, flexible, efficient, and cost-effective technical capabilities to launch, deliver, operate, monitor, process, manipulate, and support the data or technology platforms that HERE’s commercial products rely on, while also maintaining AWS infrastructure (including EC2, VPC, ALB/ELB, IAM), managing batch processes using BMC Control-M, and automating operational workflows. You’ll also participate in a shared on-call rotation approximately every 6 weeks to support production systems.
