Summary

The Senior Information Systems Analyst is responsible for the configuration, support, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the City of Garland’s enterprise application systems. This role works closely with cross-functional teams and business users. The person in this role acts as the lead technical expert in application administration, upgrades and related areas ensuring that all support or service requests are dealt with according to the agreed procedures.

Pay Range: $68,722.16 - 91,100.57 (Depending on qualifications and experience)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administer and support complex software applications, ensuring they are efficient, scalable, and maintainable.

  • Research, test, analyze and resolve complex software issues and customer support queries.

  • Coordinate internal resources and/or vendor to provide resolution.

  • Oversee the applications lifecycle, lead the maintenance and update processes, ensuring applications remain current and functional.

  • Install new releases of supported software and maintain supporting documents.

  • Oversee application integrations with other business systems and external vendors.

  • Ensure accurate and consistent data across platforms through data uploads, audits, and corrections.

  • Develop and manage reports and dashboards, providing stakeholders with relevant and timely information to aid business decision-making.

  • Continuously research new technologies and methodologies that can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of application support.

  • Lead efforts to implement innovative solutions that enhance application performance and user experience by analyzing new software requests from City departments.

  • Create and maintain user guides, training materials, and system documentation.

  • Conduct training sessions and act as a mentor to staff by providing guidance and support.

  • Foster a collaborative environment where team members can share ideas and contribute to success.

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Four-year college degree

  • 5 years related experience

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job

Preferred Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related area of study

  • 7 - 10 years experience with application support, relational databases and customer service interface

  • Experience with Enterprise Applications such as Salesforce, Onbase and Workday preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Advanced knowledge and experience with software application administration

  • Skill in report design and queries

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft SQL

  • Ability to research and document workflow

  • Skill in interpreting technical diagrams and procedures

  • Ability to research issues and develop solutions in a timely manner

  • Ability to explain technical concepts in non-technical terms

  • Foster a positive and productive team environment, encouraging innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and meet customer service deadlines

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization

Licenses and Certifications

  • Valid Class C Texas driver's license
