As a Senior HSE Engineer at Solstice Advanced Materials, you will provide technical leadership across all aspects of process safety, driving the implementation, stewardship, and continuous improvement of the site’s Process Safety Management (PSM) and Loss Prevention programs. Your primary focus will be on identifying, evaluating, and mitigating process safety risks to support safe, reliable, and compliant operations.
This position covers key elements of process safety engineering, with accountability for ensuring full compliance with OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, and internal HSE PSM standards. You will play an integral role in embedding safety principles into day-to-day operations and business decision-making processes. Core responsibilities include supporting and sustaining essential PSM elements such as Process Hazard Analyses (PHA/HAZOP), Management of Change (MOC), Mechanical Integrity, Incident Investigation, and Safe Work Practices.
The role also requires working knowledge of technical process safety disciplines, including explosion effects analysis and facility sitting, pressure relief and disposal system adequacy, consequence analysis, dispersion modeling, fire protection systems, and hazard identification methodologies (e.g., HAZOP or similar). Experience with risk analysis tools such as Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA), Event Tree Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, and availability target setting is expected, along with the application of safety-in-design principles and Management of Change evaluations.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, maintenance, and site leadership—to strengthen process safety culture and embed risk-based thinking throughout the organization. Success in this role will depend on your ability to influence stakeholders, lead site-wide initiatives, and drive continuous improvement in process safety performance, operational discipline, and risk management.
Reporting directly to the Solstice Advanced Materials PSM Manager, with a matrix reporting line to the Site HSE Manager, this position is based on-site in Baton Rouge, LA.
