Sr. HRIS Analyst – Technical Reporting, Dashboards & Talent Modules (Workday)

We are searching for a Sr. HRIS Analyst with deep technical expertise in Workday Reporting & Dashboards, including custom report creation, advanced reporting, and calculated fields, to join our People & Culture HRIS team.

Our organization has been live on Workday for just 1.5 years. As we continue to mature, this role will be foundational in building scalable reporting structures, educating the broader P&C team on the use of the Workday system, and helping create the processes needed for an effective HRIS function.

You’ll enjoy competitive pay; comprehensive benefits; 401(k) contributions; paid vacation; and the opportunity to continue your Workday development through training and potential certification.

General Purpose and Scope of Position

This role will serve as the primary technical expert for Workday reporting, dashboards, calculated fields, and analytics. While other members of the HRIS team will handle functional reporting for their focus areas, you will own the technical framework that makes high‑quality reporting possible.

You will also provide support and own the Workday Recruiting, Learning, and Talent modules, providing configuration and maintenance, as well as helping the P&C team understand the system’s design, limitations, and required data structures. You will work closely with a team that is still developing their Workday fluency, so patience and a teaching mindset are essential.

Key Skills and Abilities

  • Expert experience creating:
    • Advanced custom reports (RaaS, matrix, composite, trending, analytics)
    • Calculated fields (core, advanced, multi-instance, conditional logic)
    • Dashboards, scorecards, and discovery boards
  • Strong ability to translate business questions into scalable technical designs
  • General understanding of Workday integrations and ability to assist in troubleshooting, although not the primary integration owner
  • Functional familiarity with Workday Recruiting, Learning, and Talent modules
  • Strong understanding of Workday data sources, security domains, and reporting structures
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical users

Key Personal Attributes

  • Patient, empathetic, and comfortable teaching others with limited Workday experience
  • Strong initiative with a drive to build structure and consistency
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong prioritization and time management skills
  • Collaborative, team-oriented, and approachable
  • Comfortable enforcing standardized intake and documentation processes

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables

Reporting, Dashboards & Analytics (Primary Technical Ownership)

  • Serve as the primary technical expert for Workday reporting, dashboards, and calculated fields, ensuring scalable and accurate data structures
  • Build and maintain advanced custom reports across all functional areas and support HRIS teammates by providing technical reporting expertise as needed
  • Develop and maintain standardized reporting frameworks, reusable calculated fields, and consistent data logic
  • Create dashboards, analytics, and workforce metrics that support self‑service for HRBPs and business leaders
  • Partner with HRBPs and functional leaders to understand data needs and deliver effective, long-term analytical solutions
  • Ensure consistent security, data accuracy, and governance across all reporting assets
  • Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, or consolidate reporting and data processes
  • Document reporting requirements, logic, and solutions to ensure clarity and sustainability

Integrations (Ownership for Supported Modules + Cross-Team Support)

  • Own and maintain module-specific integrations related to Recruiting, Learning, and Talent, including troubleshooting, testing, and validating data flows
  • Provide cross-functional support to the HRIS team by assisting with troubleshooting integrations outside of their modules when issues arise
  • Identify and communicate when integration issues are caused by, or have implications for, reporting logic, calculated fields, or underlying data structures
  • Partner with the primary integration owners to understand broader integration impacts, participate in solution discussions, and help ensure alignment between reporting structures and outbound data feeds
  • Assist in validating data mapping and logic during integration updates or enhancements, ensuring consistency with system configuration and reporting standards

Workday System Support

  • Support configuration and troubleshooting within Recruiting, Learning, and Talent
  • Support cyclical P&C processes (Talent, Learning and Recruiting) with required reporting and analytics
  • Test enhancements and updates to ensure they do not impact reporting or downstream data
  • Maintain data accuracy and develop quality checks to identify issues early
  • Help build and enforce a structured HRIS request intake process
  • Develop and maintain documentation, job aids, and training materials
  • Educate the P&C team on how Workday works—processes, timelines, constraints, and dependencies

What Makes This Role Unique

Because our organization is early in its Workday journey, this role offers the chance to:

  • Build the technical reporting foundation for the next several years
  • Shape the governance and intake processes for HRIS
  • Educate and empower a P&C team that is eager to learn but still new to Workday
  • Play a visible role in our Workday maturity and optimization efforts

Compensation & Benefits

  • In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $92,400 - $123,220. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience.
  • This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, and retirement plan participation, including an employer contribution of up to 7% into your 401(k).
