POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Human Resources Generalist serves as a strategic business partner and trusted advisor to management and employees. This position is responsible for executing and supporting a broad range of human resources functions, including employee relations, talent acquisition, onboarding, benefits administration, compensation, performance management, compliance, engagement initiatives, and workforce development. The Sr. HR Generalist plays a key role in fostering a positive workplace culture, ensuring legal compliance, and supporting organizational goals through effective HR practices.


RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Employee Relations & Compliance

· Serve as the primary contact for employee relations matters and provide guidance to managers and employees.

· Conduct thorough and objective workplace investigations.

· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

· Interpret and administer company policies and procedures.

· Support corrective action, performance improvement, and conflict resolution processes.


Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

· Manage full-cycle recruitment activities for hourly and salaried positions.

· Coordinate interviewing, candidate selection, offer administration, and pre-employment activities.

· Lead new hire onboarding and orientation programs.

· Partner with leaders to support workforce planning and talent acquisition strategies.


Benefits & Leave Administration

· Coordinate open enrollment activities and employee communications.

· Manage leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, and short-term disability.

· Assist employees with benefits-related questions and issue resolution.


Performance Management & Development

· Support performance evaluation processes and talent review initiatives.

· Assist managers with employee coaching, performance improvement plans, and development opportunities.

· Identify training needs and coordinate employee development programs.

· Support succession planning and career development initiatives.


HR Operations & Reporting

· Maintain employee records and ensure data integrity within HRIS systems.

· Generate HR reports, metrics, and workforce analytics.

· Support audits, compliance reporting, and HR projects.

· Recommend process improvements to enhance HR efficiency and employee experience.


Employee Engagement

· Support engagement, recognition, retention, and wellness initiatives.

· Facilitate employee feedback programs, stay interviews, and action planning.

· Build strong relationships across departments to foster communication and collaboration.


OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES)

· Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.

· Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.

· Ability to build relationships and influence leaders at all levels of the organization.

· Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

· Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

· Bilingual Spanish preferred.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels)

· Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience.

· 5+ years of experience as an HR Generalist with progressive responsibility

· Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or multi-site environment preferred.

· Demonstrated experience handling employee relations investigations and employment law compliance.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

· Frequent standing, walking, and movement throughout manufacturing and office environments.

· Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

· Ability to conduct work in both office and production settings.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position operates in both an office and manufacturing environment and may require interaction with employees on the production floor. Appropriate personal protective equipment must be worn when entering designated production areas.
