Compass Datacenters is recruiting for a Sr. Government Relations Specialist that will be responsible for supporting the Government Relations function — assisting with execution, monitoring, and stakeholder coordination.

Responsibilities: 

  • State and local bill tracking and analysis for issues affecting Compass Datacenters and the data center industry. 
  • Monitoring beyond the legislature — regulatory agencies, rulemaking, public comment periods. 
  • Assisting with state legislative sessions and advocacy efforts; same at the local level. 
  • Helping coordinate legislative visits/meetings, and site tours for officials. 
  • Keeping stakeholders informed on legislative and regulatory developments; coordinating RPWs. 
  • Assisting with policy briefs, talking points, and one-pagers; maintaining a legislative contact database. 
  • Attending and helping to manage trade association meetings and working groups; reporting key takeaways back to the business.

Skills and Experience: 

  • Proactive — identifies emerging issues before they escalate. 
  • Preferred: state capital experience with at least one or two legislative sessions. 
  • Preferred: familiarity with relevant regulatory bodies (utility commissions, environmental agencies). 
  • Can distill complex policy into clear, concise briefs for business leaders.

Requirements: 

  • 3+ years in government relations, government affairs, or public policy. 
  • Skilled in bill tracking, regulatory proceedings, and legislative processes.

Location: 

Dallas, TX.
