This position can be hybrid at 2501 N Loop Dr #1700, Ames, IA 50010 - Iowa State University Research Park 2-3 days per week or remote in the United States.

What You Will Do
- Design, build, and optimize user-facing features for web-based imaging applications
- Create clean, responsive, and user-friendly UI/UX experiences
- Integrate front-end components with robust back-end systems
- Ensure compliance with coding standards, accessibility requirements, and industry best practices
- Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance on front-end technologies and effective coding practices
- Deliver clear documentation of features, functionality, and user-facing behavior
- Present technical concepts to product and leadership teams with clarity and confidence
- Actively participate in agile ceremonies and cross-functional team meetings to support seamless product delivery
- Conduct peer reviews to maintain code quality and foster front-end best practices

What You Will Have
- 4 - 5 years of software engineering experience with increasing complexity and responsibility
- Excellent skills with experience building production web applications
- Excellent communicator with the ability to collaborate across engineering, product and design teams to deliver high-quality user experiences
- Advanced analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities
- Proven ability to build partnerships, cultivate lasting internal relationships, and resolve complex issues collaboratively
Nice to Haves
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
- Specialized experience in device driver API integrations, including low-level programming and hardware/software integration
Travel/Physical Demands
- Travel typically less than 10%
- Office environment with no special physical demands required
The posted range for this position is $95,000 - $135,000 which is the expected starting salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity, etc. This position is eligible for a bonus target not reflected in the range.
