We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Securities-Based Lending (SBL) Engineering team based in Dublin.
You will become part of a collaborative Agile engineering team responsible for developing and enhancing Broadridge's cloud-native lending platform used by leading wealth managers, private banks and financial institutions globally.
This role offers an opportunity to work across the full software development lifecycle, designing and delivering scalable, secure and resilient solutions spanning modern user interfaces, REST APIs, backend services and cloud infrastructure.
We're looking for an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, takes ownership of delivery, continuously raises engineering standards and enjoys collaborating across Product, QA, UX and Engineering teams.
This role combines modern full-stack development with strong Python engineering experience and cloud native delivery using AWS.
Responsibilities
Design, develop and maintain high-quality full-stack applications supporting Broadridge's Securities Based Lending platform, including modern web applications using Angular and/or React.
Design and build scalable backend services using Python, Java and modern API-first architectures.
Design, implement and evolve RESTful APIs and microservices.
Build secure, scalable and resilient cloud-native applications deployed to AWS using modern DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
Participate in architecture discussions and technical design reviews.
Produce clean, maintainable and well-tested code.
Perform peer code reviews, contribute to engineering standards and continuously improve software quality, performance and engineering practices.
Design, implement and maintain automated testing across backend services, REST APIs and user interfaces, contributing to robust CI/CD pipelines and engineering quality standards.
Troubleshoot production issues and drive root cause analysis.
Design, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Work closely with Product Managers, QA Engineers, Scrum Masters and UX partners; participate in sprint planning, estimation, refinement and retrospectives; and support the development of junior engineers through mentorship and collaboration.
Requirements
5+ years commercial software engineering experience, including strong commercial experience developing software using Python and FastAPI.
Commercial experience developing enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot, with experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
Experience developing Front-End applications using Angular or React, with strong JavaScript or TypeScript skills and working knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3.
Experience with PostgreSQL or other enterprise relational databases.
Experience using Git.
Experience developing cloud-native applications on AWS, including services such as ECS, Lambda, EC2, S3, IAM and CloudWatch.
Experience designing and maintaining automated unit, integration and API tests within CI/CD environments.
Experience working within Agile Scrum teams.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal English.
Additional highly desirable experience includes Flask, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Nomad, Helm, Clojure, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, OpenAPI, OAuth2 / JWT, event-driven architecture, distributed systems, and experience in financial services, securities-based lending or banking platforms.
