Location: This is a hybrid role with a minimum in-office requirement of 3 days per week at our Ottawa, ON office located at 40 Hines Rd, Ottawa, ON K2K 2M5, Canada.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Sr. Frontend Developer to join the development and optimization of our Trend Vision One. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping the digital landscape of our company, focusing on innovative problem solving and the delivery of high-quality user interfaces. Your expertise will be crucial in driving the excellence of our products and influencing our technological choices, all while working collaboratively with a team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the digital space. 

Responsibilities:

  • Web Application Development: Design, develop, and optimize web applications focusing on exceptional user experience and high performance.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with designers, product managers, and backend developers to ensure seamless integration and delivery of high-quality products.

  • Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Utilize React to enhance application functionality and user interaction.

  • Code Reviews: Conduct thorough code reviews and provide constructive feedback to enhance team development efforts.

  • Industry Trends: Stay ahead of industry developments and integrate contemporary front-end practices to maintain competitiveness and innovation.

  • Agile Practices: Engage actively in agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in front-end development.

  • Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and experience with React.

  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and asynchronous request handling techniques.

  • Proficient with modern development tools such as Webpack, Vite, Babel, and NPM.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Deep knowledge in responsive design and ensuring cross-browser compatibility.

  • Awareness of front-end security practices (XSS, CSRF, CSP) and strategies to mitigate vulnerabilities.

  • Proficiency in TypeScript is preferred.

  • Experience in full-stack development is advantageous.

  • Knowledge of frontend microservices architectures (single-spa, qiankun) is beneficial.

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is desirable.

For applicants in the province of Ontario: Trend Micro Canada is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary for this role is CAD $105,000.00 - $115,000.00. A candidate’s final compensation for this position will be determined by various factors to include, but not limited to relevant work experience, skills, and certifications.
