POSITION SUMMARY
The Sr Financial Analyst will play a critical role in driving the financial planning and analysis process, supporting budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making. This individual will partner with cross-functional teams to provide insights, identify trends, and improve financial performance. Operates with moderate independence.
DESCRIPTION
Duties and Responsibilities
- Own reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes for specific business units, functions, or projects.
- Build models and dashboards to forecast and analyze KPIs and business unit performance. Analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results and communicate key drivers to stakeholders.
- Provide financial insights to support business unit leadership. Partner with business units to evaluate initiatives, build business cases, and support decision-making.
- Execute key planning activities with guidance from manager.
- Prepare management reporting packages with commentary on variances, KPIs, and financial metrics.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization and process improvements.
- Participate in long-range planning and scenario analysis.
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed.
- Performs related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics.
- MBA, CFA, or CPA preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in FP&A, ideally mortgage related.
Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
- Strong Excel and reporting skills; familiar with BI tools and financial systems.
- Solid grasp of accounting fundamentals.
- Experience with ERP and planning tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle Hyperion, Anaplan, Workday Adaptive).
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrates ownership and accountability.
