Job Description

Job Summary:

Meet all requirements for financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and cash planning/reporting. Reports directly to Director Cost/Planning

Responsibilities and Tasks (listed in bullet format) in order of priority to be successful

• Assist in presentation of comprehensive, consolidated measurement plan and quarterly updates.

• Assist in preparation of annual strategic plan.

• Assist in preparation of monthly forecasts.

• Work with operational management to develop annual budgets.

• Provide journal entries, as required, and provide various schedules for inclusion in the monthly financial statements.

• Analyze and report on departmental expenditures, cash flow, variances to plan and commissions.

• Review and analyze all appropriations for capital expenditures for reasonableness.

• Maintain the Overhead and General and Administration expense sub-ledger.

• Complete related special projects as required.

• Daily attendance is an essential of this position.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent work experience.

• 7+ years’ experience in finance with computerized financial systems, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Physical Requirements

• Normal physical exertion often requiring walking, and prolonged periods of work on foot or standing. Some extended hours of work involved.

• Requires lifting of items weighing up to 60 pounds on an occasional basis.

• Requires physical effort associated with standing/walking/sitting.

• Requires the use of either or both hands for grasping items, manual dexterity is required, and the ability to push/pull, i.e., open/close file cabinets and/or handle machinery.

• Requires ability to twist, bend, squat, climb, and/or other body movements to successfully accomplish the requirements of the position.

• Requires the ability to reach above shoulder height in accomplishing job tasks.

• Sufficient vision required to successfully accomplish the requirements of the position.

• Requires the ability to walk on uneven surfaces.

• Requires sustained periods of concentration.

• Must be able to handle stressful situations without affecting logical decision making.

• Daily attendance is an essential of this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Defense industry experience
• Master’s Degree
