APAC Finance Leader (PAS – Projects & Automation Solutions)- Sr Finance Manager 

Reporting to: PA CFO – APAC & India 

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia or Pune, India


This position will lead the Finance activities for Project & Automation Solutions (“PAS”) Line of Business. This role will partner and support the APAC PAS General Manager in driving financial performance, managing and standardizing key business processes including the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), Monthly Business Review (MBR), Financial Analysis and Forecasts and drive results, including working capital reduction, across Asia Pacific via our matrix organisation. This role will also participate in project and productivity reviews and is responsible for ensuring project review compliance. 

Business Partnering: Provides business partnering to APAC General Manager & cross functional team to drive Growth and ensure to deliver on the financial commitments - Revenue, Operating Income, Working Capital, Cash Flow.

Provide financial guidance to HPS India  leadership team for all activities of the business including Strategic analysis, Specific Deal Analysis, Deal Modeling, Contract Reviews and Cost Control . Provides strong finance leadership in CPQs and all commercial and credit decisions during budgetary and firm proposals. 

Financial Planning & Analysis: Leads the AOP planning process for the LOB in APAC and supports Monthly Business Review.  Analyses & interprets key financials including profitability, project backlog, backlog margin, deviations, utilization, billability and recoveries. Be an active influencer and change agent for the sales, inventory operations planning (SIOP) process. 

Ensure Intense focus on cost productivity and financial discipline through the development of detailed and prudent business plans, the deployment of spend analysis tools, and influence / inspection/validation of these  programs

New Entity Implementation & Integration: Acts as the focal point for newly acquired entities and ensure seamless integration. Partner with other SBGs & Corporate for initiatives in Malaysia Principal Hub. 

Customer to Cash (C2C): Monitors & reviews Working Capital for the LOB and partners with the Working Capital team to improve turns, minimize bad debts & support Working Capital improvement initiatives as required to drive C2C efficiency.

Internal Controls and Compliance: Ensures strong internal controls are in place, project reviews are adhered, and any project cost overruns are identified early. Perform a formal (documented) quarterly analytic review of the P&L and balance sheet for the LOB , investigating and documenting all unusual trends and fluctuations.


Other: Works with other members of the Finance Team and maintains a productive, dynamic and rewarding team environment. Leads process improvement initiatives. Participates in ad hoc projects.

Qualification and Technical Abilities: 

  • Professionally (CA or CPA) qualified more than 12 years of experience in finance and accounting.
  • Experience in Manufacturing, project & Service Industry is a must
  • Comfortable and experienced at dealing with various functions and global stakeholders.
  • Fluent in verbal English and in written communication.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, Preferable SAP . Excellent in MS Office tools .
  • Good knowledge of US GAAP , Direct /Indirect Taxes - Well versed with Project Accounting
