This position partners with field leadership to assure early career success for prospective FAs in the licensing phase and is responsible for managing candidates through a centralized FINRA examination preparation process by delivering support to each candidate and the leadership in their regional office. The incumbent will provide coaching, accountability, and encouragement to candidates to maximize the likelihood of success within program time frames. This position works closely with TAG leaders and staff to provide regular updates, insights and identify opportunities for process improvement. The incumbent may also be asked to support and consult with TAG / COE business partners to help them improve the development and onboarding program.
This can be a remote position within the US.
- Centralized candidate support
- Analyze candidates study progress, looking for trends and efficiencies. If gaps, determine solutions and coach candidates to make the necessary changes to get them back on track. Track and monitor their progress to ensure follow-through.
- Hold candidates accountable to their study timeline and target test dates. This will happen through regular candidate check-ins. When candidates fall off schedule, develop an immediate plan to correct that and track their progress to ensure compliance.
- Use effective motivation approaches to assure candidate is successful in the stressful exam environment. Utilize GROW Coaching model to coach and tutor candidates to a successful exam outcome.
- Escalate situations to the candidate’s field leader immediately if they fail to be coachable or stick with the pre-determined study timeline; when warranted makes recommendations to terminate a prospective FA from the program if not making sufficient progress toward licensing goals.
- Identify, develop and implement resources and processes to improve representative onboarding and development process
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with field leaders to keep them aware of their candidate’s progress through licensing. This may involve giving tough feedback on challenging candidates or influencing a field leader to more closely follow our licensing process.
- Create a consistent candidate experience from beginning to end in the licensing process. Failure to follow a consistent process would result in longer cycle times, lower FINRA exam pass rates and candidate retention.
- Describe and educate FPs on financial industry regulatory environment and critical firm requirement for licensure and registration.
- Assist candidates in understanding of exam topics through direct consultation or 3rd party resources.
- Consult with regional office leaders/staff and corporate partners to identify opportunities to increase efficiency and effectiveness for new representative onboarding including but not limited to, roles and responsibilities, process improvement, training and incentives.
- Communication, tracking and analysis of candidate and regional office licensing results (candidate pass rates, cycle time, retention, vendor success rates, etc.).
- Plan, direct and coordinate activities of candidates to ensure they have the resources, training and tools to successfully increase FP investment and LHA product production and ensure goals / timelines are met.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in human resources, education, organizational development, business administration, or a related field.
- 2 or more years financial services experience
- Knowledge of financial services industry
- FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 required or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire
- Proficient technical/PC skills; expert user of software tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
