The position as Senior Failure Analysis Engineer (f/m/d) will be responsible for planning and executing analysis requests on our Power, IC and MCU semiconductor products. Individual will drive projects to improve our lab capabilities towards chip analytics and handle state-of-the-art equipment like microscopes, LIBS, Failure spot localization and SEM/FIB. The position reports directly to the Global Lab Manager.
About the position:
Perform die-level and package-level failure analysis on IC and MCU products to identify root causes of failures.
Utilize advanced FA tools and techniques such as Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Scanning Acoustic Microscopy (SAM), optical microscopy, and Curve Tracer for fault isolation and defect characterization.
Generate detailed FA reports to communicate findings and recommendations to internal teams and customers.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, product, test engineering, and quality assurance to resolve issues and improve product reliability.
Develop and optimize FA methodologies and processes to enhance analysis accuracy and efficiency.
Maintain and calibrate FA laboratory equipment and ensure the availability of necessary supplies.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in failure analysis techniques and semiconductor technology.
About you:
University degree in materials science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or comparable.
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in failure analysis of semiconductor devices
Proficiency in operating FA equipment such as optical microscopy, SEM, Curve Tracer, and Photon Emission Microscopy.
Hands-on experience with physical FA techniques including chemical decapsulation, mechanical cross-sectioning, and ion milling.
Strong understanding of semiconductor physics, IC fabrication processes, and circuit analysis.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Willingness to work in a laboratory setting with occasional flexible hours to meet urgent requests.
