The Data, AI and Analytics Organization is an exciting center of excellence supporting all of Verizon as a part of the Transformation Office.
You’ll work closely with a team of Business Stakeholders, Data scientists, data engineers, and Software developers to play a key role in developing and delivering the solutions that generate substantial value for the business.
What you’ll be doing...- We use digital data as the fuel to propel us beyond our competition. As a Sr Engr Cslt Data Scientist, you’ll contribute to projects that develop and perform complex analyses using Agentic AI solutions and Big Data technologies to solve critical business problems. You’ll be constantly on the lookout for new modeling techniques through agents, evolving technologies, and emerging industry trends so that we can stay ahead of the game. Your work will help us meet our customers’ needs and make it even easier for them to do business with us.
- You'll be part of a leading-edge advanced analytics team required to build optimized agents to improve supply chain management and drive optimal decisions in some of the world’s most unique supply chain and business operations problems. The advanced analytics team develops Agentic solutions for stock out management, geospatial routings and mathematical models to support Verizon’s supply chain and operations business objectives. Our team leverages tools like agentic solutions, big data, statistical analysis, machine learning, optimization methods, and related analytical techniques.
- As a team member you will:
- Develop agentic solutions for better optimized performance of the models after a deep understanding of the business context and objectives of the projects you support.
- Develop models for agentic framework, optimized solutions and model building
- Actionable insights, optimized data handling solutions and visual dashboards.
- Conduct through the development and implementation of actionable analytics products through agentic framework
- Ensure data quality and promote process improvement.
- Learn and understand the business processes of supply chain and operations. Learn the tradeoffs and priorities of the business.
- Translate supply chain and operations into analytical problems and effectively communicate results and business implications to key stakeholders.
- Partner with team and non-team data scientists to assess project feasibility, select input features, validate project output, and communicate the key results.
- With an eye towards improving performance and predictability, you like the science of analytics. Developing resolutions to complex problems, using your sharp judgment to develop methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria allows you to deliver solutions that make a huge impact.
- Provides support for model build and layouts for complex, large-scale data sets used for modeling, data mining, and research purposes. Supports the building of large and complex data sets from spurious sources while thinking strategically about uses of data and how data use interacts with data design.
You’ll need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
- Experience in agentic framework, data scientist, analyst, or statistical modeler.
- Hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs programmatically (e.g., Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, OpenAI).
- Experience designing and building autonomous or semi-autonomous systems using Agentic Frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, CrewAI, or Google ADK).
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
- Degree in data science, business intelligence and analytics, computer science, or mathematics.
- Master’s degree in a technical field like Operations Research, Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, or an engineering or scientific discipline.
- Knowledge on Supply chain mgmt, stock mgmt, retail functions
- Experience with Agentic AI, Google BigQuery, Google Cloud Platform Services.
- Practical experience with Enterprise LangGraph SDK or Google ADK.
- Production AI Engineering: Good knowledge of RAG Architecture, Model Context Protocol (MCP), AI Observability/Tracing, and scaling production-grade agentic solutions.
- Experience with programming languages, like Java, Python, or R.
- Experience with Alteryx.
- Experience with SQL.
- Experience with visualization tools, like Tableau, looker or similar visual analysis tools, optimization, analytics and large data sets, developing visually compelling interactive dashboards.
- Experience leveraging AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Claude, Gemini) to accelerate daily development workflows while maintaining a disciplined approach to model selection and token efficiency.
