Job Description SummaryGE Vernova's Power Conversion & Storage division is seeking a seasoned Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing team of approximately 12 engineers focused on the project execution of power stability and energy storage solutions across the solar, energy storage, and data center markets. Reporting to the Head of North American Engineering, this leader will be accountable for technical execution excellence, team development, and the implementation of new tools and processes that elevate both quality and operational performance.
The ideal candidate brings deep technical knowledge of power conversion systems, a proven track record of leading remote engineering teams, and the leadership presence to drive accountability and collaboration across a matrixed organization. This role offers the opportunity to shape the capability and culture of a growing team at the forefront of the energy transition.
This role will report out of our Pittsburgh office.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering leadership for Order-To-Remittance (OTR) execution across energy storage, solar, and data center markets, encompassing technologies including FlexInverters, BESS, Medium Voltage UPS, and balance of system products
  • Drive on-time, on-budget project execution across the portfolio with clear accountability and transparent progress metrics
  • Lead the implementation of new PLM and PPM tools to improve project visibility, quality tracking, and engineering workflow
  • Champion a process-driven culture through daily management, LEAN principles, and a continuous improvement mindset
  • Optimize schedules across the portfolio to effectively plan organizational throughput and expedite projects as needed to meet deadlines
  • Integrate Lessons Learned processes to systematically improve quality of fielded equipment and prevent recurring issues
  • Oversee system architecture development, ensuring designs meet performance, cost, and regulatory requirements
  • Provide technical leadership in design reviews and ensure compliance with relevant standards
  • Assign system leads to projects and support them with clear technical direction, coaching, and issue resolution
  • Partner with ITO, Product Engineering, Manufacturing, and Commissioning teams to ensure seamless project execution
  • Provide product and project feedback to the product development team to inform future improvements
  • Lead, coach, and mentor direct reports; conduct performance appraisals and effectively mediate conflicts
  • Lead the full hiring lifecycle for new engineering talent, from role definition through onboarding
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and accountable team culture focused on quality, delivery, and continuous improvement
  • Contribute to organizational planning, capability growth strategy, and long-term resourcing — including readiness to support potential expansion into adjacent technologies
  • Drive an inclusive culture of respect within the team and broader organization
  • Lead Customer Service engagements post commissioning activiites

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
  • Minimum of 10 years of technical engineering experience

  • Deep understanding of power conversion equipment, BESS systems, and related engineering tools, analysis methods, and design methodologies
  • Demonstrated success developing and leading remote or distributed engineering teams

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to interface confidently with senior leadership

  • Proven track record of recruiting, developing, and retaining engineering talent at multiple levels
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%
  • Comfortable working with global teams, including flexibility across time zones
  • Proactively identifies and removes organizational obstacles, enabling the team to execute with speed and clarity

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $131,700.00 and $219,300.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
