The Contribution You’ll bring to this Role: 

 The Product & Engineering Manager is responsible for leading product portfolio strategy, engineering execution, and new product development initiatives to drive profitable growth, operational efficiency, and product innovation across the organization. 

This role combines strategic product management with technical engineering leadership, overseeing the full product lifecycle from market analysis and portfolio prioritization through engineering execution, value engineering, and commercialization. The position partners cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Finance to ensure products meet customer needs while optimizing cost, manufacturability, and profitability. 

The Product & Engineering Manager will lead a small team while driving accountability, continuous improvement, and execution across both product management and engineering functions.

As a member of our Manufacturing Engineering team, you’ll have the opportunity to work on innovative projects that directly enhance our production capabilities and drive continuous improvement across our facilities. What You’ll Do at Justrite: 

  • Own product portfolio strategy to drive profitable growth, operational efficiency, and long-term value  
  • Prioritize investments and lifecycle decisions using ROI, market data, and strategic alignment  
  • Translate business strategy into execution, aligning product, engineering, and commercial plans  
  • Leverage market, customer, and competitive insights to identify growth opportunities and shape product positioning  
  • Lead full product lifecycle from concept through commercialization and post-launch optimization  
  • Drive engineering execution across development, cost optimization, manufacturability, and compliance  
  • Oversee design reviews, specifications, engineering documentation and compliance activities to  
  • Lead VA/VE and continuous improvement efforts to reduce cost, optimize design, improve performance, and standardization  
  • Own pricing and profitability, partnering with Finance, Sales, and Operations to optimize margin performance and support cost trends 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align on product strategy, improve efficiency, and support customer needs  
  • Lead and develop teams, ensuring clear priorities, accountability, and strong communication to leadership 
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, innovation, and execution 

Your Skills and Expertise: 

To ensure your success from day one in this role, Justrite requires the following qualifications at a minimum: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or related field required (MBA preferred). 
  • 10+ years of experience in product management, engineering, portfolio management, or related leadership roles within manufacturing or industrial products 
  • Prior leadership experience managing teams preferred 
  • Proficiency with CAD systems (3D CAD preferred) and ERP/MRP systems (MAPICS a plus) 
  • Knowledge of FM Global and NFPA standards is a plus  

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: 

  • Primarily office-based with regular interaction in manufacturing environments 
  • Travel to suppliers, customers, and manufacturing sites up to 25% 
  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs 

Compensation: 

The position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $150,000 to $185,000. 


Actual base salaries will vary and may be above or below the recommended pay range based on factors such as but not limited to location, relevant experience and performance.   Additionally, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan to enhance their overall total compensation package when Justrite Safety Group and their business units achieve annual business and financial targets.
