As an Ultrapure Water (UPW) Engineer, you will support the design, construction, commissioning, and operation of water treatment and reclaim systems for both our new manufacturing fab and existing technology development facilities. In this role, you will partner with operations, maintenance, construction, and engineering teams to ensure systems operate safely, efficiently, and within specification. You will also harness data analytics and digital tools to find opportunities for improvement, enhance system performance, and support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering support for the design, construction, commissioning, operation, and optimization of ultrapure water and water reclaim systems
- Review engineering designs, calculations, equipment submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and system configurations to ensure quality, functionality, and compliance
- Monitor system performance using SCADA, SPC, IoT, and other digital tools to identify issues, drive improvements, and support reliable operations
- Partner with operations, maintenance, construction, and vendor teams to complete projects, manage system changes, and resolve technical challenges
- Promote safety, environmental compliance, quality improvement, and cost reduction initiatives across facilities operations
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience
- Three or more years of engineering experience supporting industrial water, utilities, facilities, or related systems
- Knowledge of engineering design principles, system fixing, commissioning, and process improvement methodologies
- Understanding of safety laws and practices, including lockout/tagout, hazardous energy isolation, PPE, and chemical safety requirements
- Strong project management, communication, organization, and multi-functional collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical field
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification in a relevant field
- Three or more years of facilities or plant operations experience in semiconductor manufacturing
- Experience with ultrapure water, water reclaim, or other critical facilities systems in a manufacturing environment
- Experience using digital tools, data analytics, and AI-enabled technologies to improve engineering efficiency, support technical decision-making, and enhance operational performance
